Finally back at it after several months of down time to spend some quality family time with my 6 month old son as well as my 3 year old and 12 year old!!! And let's not forget my amazing girlfriend Marie-Claude Choinière Tupperware.
I recently watched " How to become a commercial photographer" course on CreativeLive, that was given by Rob Grimm, Gary Martin and Aaron Nace. That course was amazing and a definite game changer for me.
Watching Rob and Gary work has given me a clear picture of what I want to do and where I want to go. It's time to make good use of what I learned.
So now it's practice, practice, practice, to fine tune my skills and make sure I'm as confortable as possible with any situations! To start me off, why not use a local product which I've shot before when they were starting out! I've waited a long time but I finally got my hands on cans of Flying Canoe Hard Cider to shoot. I had shot their test bottle a while back and now I will try and make these cans look good!!!
I have 23 years experience in the broadcasting industry with at least half of that time as a cameraman. I've always loved having the time to properly light an interview or a product and then see it on air!
Photography has also been a passion of mine for that same amount of time. My broadcasting experience really comes in handy with the big difference being that I'm now dealing with a still picture instead of a moving one! Let me tell you it's never as easy at it seems!
It was quite a challenging first day! Reflections, lack of proper gear, overflowing glasses.....but what a day!!!! I learned a lot and still have a lot to learn! For now I am satisfied with the first results from the photoshoot. Now comes the editing part in Photoshop! Come on PHLEARN, your wise guidance will be welcomed here! Results to be posted soon I hope!

J'ai récemment écouter sur Creative Live un cours intitulé "How to become a commercial photographer" donné par Rob Grimm, Gary Martin et Aaron Nace. Quel cours incroyable qui m'a donné beaucoup de bons conseils et un chemin à suivre!
Donc première étape...pratique, pratique, pratique!!!! Il faut s'assurer de bien maîtriser les techniques afin d'être prêt autant que possible pour faire face aux nombreux défis! Comme premier produit à photographier, pourquoi ne pas utiliser un produit local pour lequel j'ai d'ailleurs fait un photo shoot. J'ai donc obtenu des canettes de Flying Canoe Hard Cider. J'avais photographier leur bouteille test alors qu'il tentait de partir leur entreprise!
J'ai 23 années d'expériences en production télévisuelle avec la moitié de ces années passées comme caméraman. J'ai toujours aimé avoir le temps de bien éclairer une entrevue ou encore un produit lors d'un tournage vidéo.
La photographie est aussi une passion pour autant d'années. Mon expérience télévisuelle m'est très utile avec comme grosse différence que maintenant je travaille avec une image fixe au lieu d'une image vidéo. Il faut dire que ce n'est jamais aussi facile que ça en a l'air!!!
Tout une première journée.....problèmes de réflections, manque d'équipements, verre débordant......Quelle journée!!! J'en ai appris beaucoup et j'en ai beaucoup à apprendre! Je suis tout de même satisfait des résultats. Maintenant, il faut passer le tout dans Photoshop et peaufiner le tout! Pour cela, Phlearn sera ma référence afin de m'aider avec ce processus. Je tenterai d'afficher le résultat final prochainement!
