And speaking of birds, another new one showed up today in my fountain. I can't seem to find it on Merlin or Google. Can anyone help? 🤔😏🤣 (Have to always make time for fun!)

Yet another bird spotting! This morning, before I even finished my first coffee, I spotted this Common Yellowthroat. After 14 years here, she is a new one for my yard in Fallingbrook, Orleans. I don't live near marshes or wetlands so you can imagine my surprise! She daintily dipped her toe into the birdbath and said "nope, not today". lol It pays to get up early, be observant (as much as possible with only the first coffee!) and keep a camera in your lap. :-)

This is a new one here for me. After 12 years in my home in northeast Orléans, a Brown Thrasher. He's been around for a couple of weeks singing away in his "1000 voice choir" from sun up to sun down. I'm pretty pleased to add this to my list. 🙂

So thrilling to be asked by The Ontario Career Lab to be a Career Coach at the upcoming career day at an Orléans high school. I get to share my photography journey with grade 9 and grade 10 students - it is exciting to hopefully ignite a spark in a young adult (or two or a few) by talking about my passion. I do think I'll leave out the part about how much I rely on caffeine though. LOL

It was very thrilling to photograph the Steel Toes and Stilettos Gala for Habitat for Humanity! So many people giving of their time, energy and donations towards a most worthy cause.

Part 2 - another day, another location between here and there. Snow owls have been on my goal list for years. This year I was fortunate to find two!! This second was named by my friend Karen - she chose the name Heemah which is Thai for snow. Watching her (again from afar) majestically and silently taking flight was magical.

Snow owls have been on my goal list for years. This year I was fortunate to find two!! I cannot express the joy I felt seeing and watching her from afar. So floofy in the winter breeze. This first was named by my friend Andrea - she chose the name Yuki which is Japanese for snow. A beautiful name for such a beautiful creature. It was peaceful watching her face the sunset. When she looked down at me, I cannot describe that moment fully with words.

🍀Happy St. Pawstrick's Day! From here at the Awoo BnB, I bring you our special birthday girl Jion! Today she celebrates her 4th birthday as permanent resident with us. She is a joy with her licks of love and her gentle demeanour. Her tippy taps of delight when she wants to go for a walk, a treato or her meal are priceless. We love our little "fox".🍀
