Hello, 2026! 👋🏻

Heading into 2026, there are several resolutions I'm making as a small photographer: be more honest with clients about what's possible, embrace my artistic voice, continue learning, and take more creative risks.

I've been brainstorming ways to improve not just as an artist but as a small business during my holiday break, and I'm so excited to start rolling them out!

Interested in getting free photos while helping a small business owner grow her portfolio? I'm looking for couples and/or small families (5 people or fewer) to capture special moments:
Snowy-day forest walk (Couples or small family)
Making dinner or baking at-home (Couples or small family)
Coffee shop date (Couples only)

Interested in participating?
-Must sign Terms & Conditions inc. model release
-Must be open to wardrobe guidance
-Must be available to meet in the greater Ottawa area

Creative sessions will be approximately 30 minutes long, scheduled at times that work for us both
Sessions result in 15+ edited photos

It was an honor to take part in this event, not only to see all of the adorable pups that visited for photos, but most of all to see the kindness and generosity of our community. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Together, they raised an incredible $320 to help dogs in our care!

We are so grateful for their generosity, their time, and everyone who came out to support. Our dogs—and our entire team—feel the love more than you know 💛

Koya and Coco helped me put the final touches on our holiday-themed mobile studio, which we'll use for the first time this upcoming weekend for our fundraising event with Mindful Mutts Dog Grooming!

This new mobile studio option has me dreaming up some big possibilities for 2026… But for now, I can't wait to see all the cute holiday pet photos we'll capture this Sunday! 🐾🎄

I’m excited to announce that I’ve teamed up with Mindful Mutts Dog Grooming (visit their website & find them on Facebook!) for an exciting holiday photoshoot fundraising event! All contributions made will be donated to It Takes a Village Dog Rescue 💕🐾

🐾 Stop by Mindful Mutts in Bourget, ON on December 7th to get festive photos of your pet and with your pet!

✨ Sessions are 10-minute minis that will result in 3 digital photos which you can download in high-resolution.

🎄 We’ll be decorating for the holidays to make your photos extra festive, plus we’re planning fun treats and surprises!

🎅🏼 Book your session in advance by sending me a DM or emailing me at thismomentportraits @ gmail. We are currently booking between 11:30am and 2pm (we may open additional times according to demand).

Are we really already halfway through summertime?? A quick personal/life update ❤

Watching my business really start to take off in 2025 has been humbling to say the least. I've really been pushing myself to grow as a photographer and small business owner this summer. I've travelled to new places, taken on new types of photo sessions and events, and I've invested a lot of time into improving everything from my website, to elevating my artistic voice and editing style, to my overall client experience. It's been a whirlwind and even when it's tough, my heart is in every minute of it!

And I am so glad that I decided to make appearances at local markets this summer because I've been able to meet so many amazing people! Whether you hired me for a photo session or connected with me as another small business owner, I'm so grateful for every person I've met. There's still 3 more months left of local markets, so be sure to watch for my calendar updates so that you can plan on visiting me (and lock in exclusive market discounted rates on my full photo sessions while you're at it!).

I've also been spending some quality time with my family. My husband and I took some time away and had the kind of quiet vacation we both needed. It's amazing what time in nature and a really special meal can do to boost your spirits.

As we move into August (and towards my fav seasons!), I just want to thank everyone who's given me a chance this year. Your encouraging words, likes, follows, and positive feedback have really given me a confidence boost! I'm super excited to share ideas I have for extra-special autumn and holiday photo sessions, you're not gonna want to miss these!
