When it comes to hiring a photographer or videographer, the cheapest option can sometimes come with hidden risks that people don’t think about in the moment. Things like missed moments, inconsistent coverage, poor communication, or even no backup plan when something goes wrong.

That being said, this isn’t about bashing anyone. Everyone starts somewhere, and I was there too building experience, learning, and growing into what I do today.

The real takeaway is this. Make your decision based on value, experience, and trust, not just price alone. Your day doesn’t get a replay button.

One mistake I see couples make all the time… not hiring a videographer or content creator for their wedding day.

Photos freeze moments, but video brings them back to life. The voices, the laughs, the reactions, the little moments you forget happened.

Honestly, one of my biggest regrets from my own wedding is not hiring a videographer. We have amazing photos, but I would give anything to relive parts of that day through video.

I’ve seen timelines become so focused on photos, schedules, and checking boxes that couples barely get a moment to breathe together. Your wedding isn’t a photoshoot all day long. It’s one of the biggest moments of your life.

As a photographer/videographer, I always pay attention to energy and emotions. If a couple is starting to feel overwhelmed or tired, that matters more to me than forcing another 50 poses.

The best photos and films come from real moments, not exhaustion ✨

Your wedding day goes by fast. Faster than people warn you about.

One minute you’re nervous getting ready, and the next you’re standing under the lights, wrapped up in each other, while every person you love watches the beginning of your next chapter together.

That’s why I always tell my couples this:
Slow down for a second.
Look around.
Take it in.
Feel it.

The timeline, the decor, the stress, all of it fades eventually. But the feeling of that moment? That’s the part worth holding onto.

This first dance at Belcroft Estate was one of those moments that reminds me why I love doing this so much. Everyone surrounding them with their phone lights, the music, the atmosphere… but somehow it still felt like it was just the two of them in the world for a minute.

I don’t just want to film weddings. I want my couples to actually experience them fully, so years later when they watch their film back, they remember how it felt, not just how it looked. 🤍
