Yesterday I finally replaced my Canon Canada EF 70-200 2.8 lens with the new RF version. I purchased the old lens off of my friend JessWattPhotography maybe 16 years ago and judging by the scratches and dings on it it's had more than its fair share of use. To be completely honest I would say that I've taken more than 1 million images with that lens. I've dragged it around the continent to concerts, music festivals, film festivals and photoshoots. It's been bumped, dropped, broken by luggage handlers, repaired more than a few times and it finally just didn't work anymore. (The focussing and stabilization systems are absolutely worn out.) I gave it one last try at a concert last week knowing that it would be the last time with it, and I will retire it to a shelf and maybe make it into a flower vase or something.

Canon Canada let me try out both versions of the new RF lenses and I loved them both and ultimately went with the smaller form factor one. Pretty excited to put it through its paces tonight at The Hives
