I had a can of pumpkin that I think I had originally bought to make pumpkin fudge with, but I was looking for something a bit more healthy - so I improvised a soup.

3 shallots - Caramelized with butter and dried sage
Freshly ground ginger
Cinnamon, nutmeg
Chicken bone broth
Pumpkin puree
Red lentils
Pumpkin seeds
Salt to taste
Add maple syrup to round out the flavor very nicely
I added cream, but it doesn't need it.
Blend the eff out of it with an immersion blender.
