Meet sweet Lucy and Bella. These girls led us through old growth forest to the most perfect ocean inlet for sunset.

We had the chance to take care of these girls for a few weeks on beautiful Cortes Island. We walked many special trails together and they left a lasting impression on us to say the least.

Been reminiscing about our time with Rikki. She loved showing us her local trails, forest or beach, and we definitely racked up some steps keeping up with her. We got close pretty quick. She loved the ocean and the forest equally and posed like a pro in both, just the sweetest, most gentle girl. Another special dog we got to connect with along this pet sitting journey, really grateful for that time.

Six months ago we landed on the island knowing we needed a change, but with no idea how things would unfold. Neeko was our very first pet sitting experience who somehow became the doorway to everything that followed. Through him we met people who made us feel instantly at home, his humans have treated us like family, his neighbours have become part of our world, and the ripple effect from that one opportunity has been incredible. Since September, life has taken on a rhythm we never could have planned, new friendships, unexpected opportunities, and the creation of Island Paw Project from pure joy and curiosity. As we reflect, we feel immensely grateful for how this all began, Neeko you changed everything 🖤

A very special session with some very special pups Luna and Willa. Pure joy from start to finish, chasing sticks along the beach, kicking up sand, fully in their element. We were able to capture both their playful energy and a few beautiful, calm moments where everything just came together. Grateful to capture them exactly as they are.

It was an honour to be part of baby Enzo’s first birthday celebration. We had the pleasure of photographing this cute fella when he was an even tinier puppy, and we’re so grateful to know him and his wonderful humans. Happy first birthday, little Enzo! Here’s to many more zoomies around the sun 🎂🌞

Little cuties Momo and Woola were the perfect models for a misty morning photoshoot in Nanaimo. It was so misty, you couldn’t see more than a few meters ahead. These girls were so professional, and happy to work overtime for treats.

We had the pleasure of photographing beautiful Mara at Neck Point Park. For an older girl, she was still so full of spark! Running, smiling, and posing like she owned the place.

She’s a beautiful reminder that a life filled with joy doesn’t slow down with age. We’re so grateful we got to capture her in these years, and just as grateful to meet her wonderful human too.

Miller is what happens when a very good dog is raised by a very good human. Calm, curious, and somehow making the forest feel more peaceful just by being in it.

This one’s a little throwback from the past month. We’re really grateful to have met and to have spent time exploring more of the Campbell River area together.

Boba Fett is a confident kitty who leads the way. He runs ahead, climbs trees, and sets the pace while his little sister Soka follows close behind. Out on the misty beach, he settles in like a natural. Just another Caturday for him. Not his first adventure, and certainly not his last.
