****Date Change**** March 8th 2-4pm
Please join us for the photographic exhibition: “Stories of Strength”. This exhibition was part of a project grant through . I partnered with Shayil Home to guide residents through a photographic storytelling project. Shayil Home is a year long residential addiction program for women and their children.
Each of the women chose a personal story to tell then photograph and reflect on their experiences through writing. They worked incredibly hard on their projects and look forward to showing it to you. Please share with others who may be interested in attending! Thank you 😊

Every Friday I meet the ladies at Shayil House to work on their photographic storytelling projects. I love going there and watching how their projects have been developing. Their exhibition is coming in February so stay tuned for the date. Today was a bit different, Lexi dyed her hair and allowed me to photograph it. I always have so much fun!

This is just the beginning of some real exciting offers! Stay tuned 🤗

Tara was an incredible soul. Her strength, courage and determination to live inspired me. Tara was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma but fought to be with her children longer. She wanted to create a legacy piece for her children, so we began to work together. Tara wanted to share her story with others, so I created a shorter version to place here. The whole version has personalized messages to each of her children, so those will stay with them only. Unfortunately, Tara passed away on August 24, 2024. She was surrounded by her family. Please keep this family in your prayers.

I have been working on a new project.

This story is about Tara, and the love she has for her children. Together we are creating a legacy piece for her children.

Tara was initially diagnosed with melanoma in November, 2021. Since that time, it has metastasized to numerous areas within her body. Faith has played a significant role in her cancer journey, so I photographed her at church a few weeks ago.

A few days later, she ended up undergoing emergency surgery on the mass in her brain, as it was causing stroke like symptoms.

Please keep this family in your prayers.

I met Melissa as her cousin shared she had a powerful story to tell. After meeting with Melissa, her story is not only powerful but rooted in resilience, strength, perseverance and determination. Despite all the challenges Melissa had to endure, she remains positive and hopeful. ❤️

Part one:

“Death in a post-Romantic age is snow and a still tree standing dead and stripped for decades where the wind can cut its names
in the burnished wood of its lifeless trunk.

It is what the image does not capture what we cannot think that sets this death apart but the tree now dead too long for toothpicks or siding dead too thoroughly for firewood”
