June '25: one of my top three self-portraits from the year (this might be no. 3) 🌧🌀

I was feeling sad and wanted to lay in the rain (a little attempt at fixing my annual bout of summertime sadness). By the time I made it outside, it had almost stopped, so I settled for laying in damp grass instead.. 🥲

I can’t quite explain why I love these so much. I just do. Although I already want to make them again.. only next time, a little more soaked in some real rain 😉💦

I took one self-portrait every month for a year 🦋

Some came easily & some were pulled together quickly at the end of the month (master procrastinator) because I refused to break the streak.

Looking at them together feels less like a collection of portraits and more like a record of what I was drawn to, what I was learning, and the different versions of myself I met along the way.. or simply trying to express my moods or feelings.

Here are all 12 together & I’ll be coming back to my top 3 because a few of them absolutely deserve their own post (orr two, hehe) 🧚🏻‍♀️

Sometimes it’s just reaally fun & empowering to get in front of a camera, do something a little different, and end up with photos where you’re like… okay, I look GOOD.
