Our third Garmin shoot for 2025 featured their D2 Air X15 Aviator smart watch. ⏱️
 
The second of the Aviation specific watches in the lineup, the ask was a multi-location still shoot with actual pilots as talent that covered the range of the X15’s features. From airborne direct-to navigation through fitness and every-day lifestyle utilities.
 
We reached into our bag of pilot buddies, found a few great locations and brought the X15 to life. 🛩️

It’s been a bit quiet around here as we’ve been out of the office and up in the air!
 
The latest campaign to go live is for and their new flagship Aviator smartwatch, the D2 Mach 2.
 
The shoot included both video and stills and involved the entire team as well as casting some local working pilots as talent. showing us just how gorgeous and capable this carbon cub is before he showed us just how well he can pretend to drink coffee on a dock.

It’s been a busy spring but it’s good to be back in the air.
 
The first quarter of the year was filled with cars, commercials and full film crews.
 
With the temperatures finally well above freezing, it was time to pull the doors off once again and  head back to 2500’ for some more air to air work.
 
This time we were joined by the boys from .yvr and their gorgeous 1000HP Caravan for another well timed sunset and possibly the world’s most expensive sandwiches.

We made a not-so-quick flight out to Toronto last week to tick off a few meetings and get a shoot in for with their gorgeous DA62 while the fall colors were firing.
 
In just a couple of hours in the air, we pulled together enough content for multiple print ads and a few months worth of social media posts with both still and video deliverables. (Stay tuned for the video to come!)
 
To keep things lean, our Aerial DP switched between shooting stills and video using our patent-pending air to air rig.

Friday evening was all-time.
 
A photography career that has spanned over 20 years in the cycling industry has begun moving in slightly different directions over the last year.  A long time passion for aviation led to reconnecting with old friends who’s careers also happen to have gone in other directions.  It’s led to new friends, new toys and exciting opportunities. Also, I now own safety tethers and am proficient at removing doors from aircraft.
 
It’s not so much an escape from MTB, but more of a Getaway with the help of some very motivated friends. So thanks to the enabler, for getting upside down and everyone else involved making things fun again!
