This girl starts high school in September.

I remember this age. I remember feeling...weird. Not grown, not a little kid. I definitely remember not feeling pretty.

I wanted to help my daughter feel as beautiful as I know she is. I wanted to help build her confidence, to remember who the eff she is, before she enters the next phase in her life.

And it worked. She LOVES these photos. She sees how pretty she is. Not that being pretty is the only thing that matters. I tell her daily how beautiful her heart is and how smart she is. But looks do matter to a teenager. Confidence in your appearance, matters, especially at her age!

I have started a creative project entitled HerStory. I wanted to take beautiful photos of beautiful women, showcasing their strength and power amidst whatever trauma and adversity they are facing or have faced!

We all have a story to tell. We all have life experiences that we felt alone living. But the fact is, we are never alone. All it takes is for SOMEONE to start talking. We, as women, can band together and help each other through anything.
