When others put their camera down, I keep going.

That’s when the moments I’m really searching for show themselves. The deep belly laugh after you just reenacted a book tok pose that gave you so many butterflies inside you couldn’t help but giggle.

Those moments, like the first photo in this engagement session carousel, are the moments worth overshooting for.
As a sports photographer, I’m all for chasing THE moment. And to chase that moment I read your body language, your energy, your personalities, your wants and needs during our sessions. From providing you with prompts for giggly poses to taking you from one of your favorite spots to another to enjoy champagne and snacks. My job is to (literally what makes this so fun and why I truly cherish this role as your photographer + friend) ensure you are enjoying the process of creating these memories that go along with every photo worthy moment.

Last year in Egypt with .sisterhood.movement for one of the most incredible adventures.

From inside the pyramids to high above them in a hot air balloon. To sailing the Nile and walking where the Pharos once did. An experience that can change a person and what a gift to be present in capturing that change.

So grateful for in choosing and trusting me to capture these moments for her and all the woman on her retreat. As their photographer and friend, this experience and these portraits are such an honour and gift.

Hire the photographer. Be the main character. Enjoy life. That’s what we are here for.

So often we believe we have to show up a certain way. Especially when it comes to showing up infront of a camera.
“I’m so awkward” or “this is so awkward” is more often than not the first few words that are spoken once the camera comes up during a session.
And every time it does, I do my darndest (getting into this country slang) to ensure you come right out of that “awkward” feeling.

From asking questions about why it feels that way. Or where that “awkward” phrase even came from. I don’t just push it aside and say “no it’s not!” I validate those feelings because it sure is a new experience being in front of someone’s camera. Having them snap intimate moments of you and your partner in a public place with strangers or even friends around to watch.

Taking the time to ease your mind and allow you to find flow with your partner through connection and love.

Once you find that with my guidance along the way, you forget who’s around or what’s even going on - “this is actually so much fun, now I want to do it again.”

So go ahead, book that portrait session just because, the engagement photos you’ve been putting off and find the wedding photographer that speaks YOUR language and understands what’s important to you and your partner on your day.
