Alice Xue’s conceptual portrait series explores three archetypal modes of womanhood: Worker, Mystic, and Lover.
Drawing on Jungian ideas of the divine feminine, each portrait unfolds around a table of symbolic objects — stand-ins for labour, intuition, and desire.
Constructed through spectral lighting and minimal sets, the scenes are reduced to their essentials: gesture, object, and gaze.
The work quietly reflects on how identity is performed and negotiated through the material objects that shape our lives.
