A short documentary featuring Tania Guzmán, a Mexican-Canadian painter born in Toronto. Her work has been influenced by her life in Oaxaca and Merida, Mexico as well as her time living in Saudi Arabia. These diverse countries have influenced Guzmán’s creative processes and her aesthetic approach. This documentary gives the audience a behind the scenes personal look into her life, her journey, and the creative process behind her art. Tania Guzmán's works are generally large thought provoking abstracts, sometimes brilliantly colourful and inspirational, other times ominous. Some pieces are airy and calm that sooth and relax, others dense post-apocalyptic landscapes with numerous hidden microcosms only revealing themselves after intense scrutiny. They have a subtle complexity that can reward observation with new discovery of landscapes, stories, and creatures.
