For those who don’t know me:
Hi,
My name is Radin, and I’m an immigrant and the creator of Radinada. If you’re wondering why Radinada, let’s first explore the complex web of immigrant identity.
When you arrive in a new country, especially in your late thirties, you often find yourself outside the circles that connect most communities. There’s no shared history, no common memories, no same sense of language to create humor that bonds you with others. As Van Gogh once wrote to his brother Theo, “I feel like a cat in a strange warehouse.” I, too, have felt like a stranger—perceived as someone with no clear origin, no context, no place. And this journey hurt you with each passing day as you vanish a little more, until you feel you’ve faded into no one. Like an empty frame that can be filled with any image that only imitates life. I have to take back my power, reclaim my personal land.
When I was six years old, I started reading books to shape myself and work on my weaknesses. Even as a child, I knew I was on a long, conscious journey of self-discovery, long before I became an immigrant.
One night, that buried awareness suddenly sparked something in me—anger and urgent questions I couldn’t ignore. I wondered: unless we’re something other than each ….
