A selection of photos I took with my homie last month when we took a couple hours out of our busy schedules to bbq some tasty eats and shake up some delicious drinks. I still have some film photos that need to be developed but I suspect that those shots will be very tasty.
This is what Nigel mentioned about the food.
“I had this idea in my head for a while with summer savoury skewers. I wanted it to be PEl on a stick kinda idea. PEl butter, garlic, beef, my summer savoury I grew.
Salted a head of time to slightly dry brine it. Cooked quickly over charcoal and brushed with the brown butter/ honey and topped with the garlic chips that cooked in said brown butter.
Salad was simple too! My tomatoes, NS nectarines, Boursin, pepper aioli and herbs from the garden.
Toast dipped in grated tomatoes and grilled”
As for the cocktail I riffed on the Irish Maid and did a “Sneaky Maiden” which had muddled cucumber, lemon juice, pot-still Irish whiskey, St.Germain elderflower liqueur, cucumber/peach bitters, blend of plum cordial and simple syrup.
2oz Irish whiskey
1/2oz st.germain
3/4oz Lemon juice
2 slices of cucumber
3/4oz plum cordial/simple syrup
Couple dashes of bitters
3 drops of saline
Add ingredients in shaker tin, muddle cucumber, add ice, shake and double strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with cucumber slice. 🍸
