when Lore Mag approached me about doing a cover for them, my only stipulation was that I needed a trans woman to be the cover star. In a world where things are seemingly regressing and trans rights are being taken away, it was imperative to me to celebrate trans folks during these dark times. Playing into my name, cults & thinking about how often times q***r folks aren’t accepted into a lot of religious spaces, Mother May I? was born.

I wish I could tell you that this shoot was easy peasy lemon squeezy, but truth be told I was going through one of the toughest transitions in my life and genuinely didn’t even want to acknowledge that this shoot happened due to the pain associated with it. This is me putting my feelings aside for the bigger picture.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this shoot happen. To all my darling disciples who stuck by me.
