1 year of Pasky Studio 💛

12 months ago today, I got the keys to a space with big potential and even bigger dreams. I wasn’t entirely sure what I was doing but I knew exactly how I wanted people to feel when they walked in.

It’s been cozy and chaotic but somewhere between painting walls and running back-to-back sessions, I became a studio manager and hosted filmmakers, parents, entrepreneurs, podcasters, and makers of all kinds.

From shooting headshots to setting up green screens for a dance music video, rearranging plants 101 times and holding cute family sessions for Christmas, Pasky Studio has grown into a space that feels alive.

There have been learning curves, growing pains, and moments of deep pride. This space has taught me how to hold vision and flexibility at the same time and what it really means to hold space for creativity AND community.
It’s shown me the power of people: the ones who walk in with an idea and leave with something they didn’t expect: confidence, clarity, or just a really good photo.

I’ve grown so much through this space. The learning never stops. The magic doesn’t either ✨

A little movement, a lot of trust.

brought the energy and the studio turned into a celebration of creativity, culture, and connection. This shoot was a full vibe. We danced, we laughed, and we created portraits that truly reflect his spirit.

Ahmed is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans film, theatre, music and storytelling. With deep roots in both Iraqi culture and Toronto’s creative scene, his presence is magnetic and capturing that visually was a joy.

Posing tips for people who hate posing 👀

Most people feel awkward when a camera is pointed at them—and honestly, I get it.

My background in dance taught me how to use body awareness, simple prompts, and small shifts to bring out portraits that feel real, confident and grounded.

That’s why my sessions aren’t about forcing poses, but about guiding people through movement so they can relax, feel seen, and actually enjoy the process.

One month ago, I left for Vancouver Island with no plan except to slow down... and visit my dear friend

What I didn’t expect was how naturally I found myself reaching for my camera—not for work, not for a client, but for the quiet moments in nature.

Before photography became my career, it was my way of being present.

Capturing forests, light on water, textures in trees—that’s how I first fell in love with the creative process.

This trip reminded me of how important it is to return to the things that ground me.

To create just for myself. To notice the little things again.🌿
