Yesterday was a tonne of fun, 20 of them to be exact, and a great challenge to solve of "how do I shoot a 45,000lb transformer core in such a way that it'll look awesome when printed and framed on the wall of the new corporate offices?".. Based on my client's reaction, I nailed it. πŸ”₯πŸ‘Œ

That first morning light in Toronto today outside of Union station at 645am.

Today started out really cloudy, but that quickly cleared up, and it's looking like a beautiful day ahead. πŸ‘Œ

This Thursday is global Vyshyvanka day, the day celebrating traditional Ukrainian embroidery. This year will mark the 10th anniversary of the Toronto walk, which will start at 630pm at Jane and Bloor and head east to High Park.

Here are a few of my photos from the event a couple of years ago.

Worst. Kinder. Surprise. Ever.

Made my way down to the McLaughlin Planetarium today as I got the tip yesterday morning that they had started demolishing the dome. By mid day today they'd already made solid progress, and in chatting with one of the guys on site, he said they expect to have it completely down by the end of next week.

Farewell to a Toronto landmark. πŸͺ¦

Who else caught that absolutely gorgeous sunset in Toronto this evening?

I almost missed it, but I looked outside at the right moment, and caught it with just enough time to grab my phone and snap a shot. πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Seeing how it's currently raining, I'm now even more thankful that the weather held up and it was so nice yesterday when I went to check out the cherry blossoms.

Thank you everybody for the love on yesterday's post, I got everything edited and put together a little post with some of my favorite shots from this year's peak bloom 🌸🌸

I skipped High Park (or any blossoms) this weekend because I knew how insane the crowds always are, and I just hoped that the weather would hold out this weekend and not knock off the blooms by Monday.

Well, turns out I was pretty lucky, and this morning feels like it was the perfect time to go and see them without all the crowds.

Just wrapping up my edits, uploading some to the newswire, and then picking a few to share on social media. Pretty solid start to the week for this guy! πŸ™‚πŸŒΈ

For those in Toronto who are curious, I'll save you the trip down here.

This is the current status of the Cherry Blossoms in High Park as of 830am on Monday April 27th. 🌸

Decided to start my day, and my week, with a nice quiet walk through the park.

Have a great start to your week, everybody. πŸ™‚

Breakin' through since '93.πŸ‘ŒπŸ”₯

Fun fact about the old "Live Eye" truck smashing through the old CityTV headquarters. In the 1980's it was one of the first mobile news vehicles in Canada, and featured a built-in microwave transmitter, which allowed news reporters to broadcast live on location from anywhere.

After being saved from a scrap yard by CityTV co-founder, Moses Znaimer, he collaborated with artist Nigel Stanley, and in 1993 it was turned into an installation where it appeared to be coming through the wall of 299 Queen Street West. For the last 33 years it's been a fixture on Queen West, hopefully that never changes.

When I heard that the McLaughlin Planetarium at the Royal Ontario Museum was facing demolition, I had to ensure I made at least one more trip to see it, and take some photos before it's gone forever.

I remember coming here as a child on school field trips to learn about space, and it was probably one of my favorite school trips we'd take. And I'll never forget that wild looking projector they had in the middle of the room.

It's a shame that they couldn't give this building a second chance at life. Now, it'll just be another place in Toronto that I'll pass by and be able to say "when I was a kid, the (insert name here) used to be there...".

C'est la vie.
