Featured in this reel are fine art prints by
William Ukoh
Ajamu X
Chantal Regnault
Jamel Shabazz

Sunday Best: The Power & The Glory of Black Style is organized by the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Philadelphia Museum of Art and is conceived and curated by Dr. Julie Crooks and Dr. Jason Cyrus, Amanda Bock and Clare Sauro.

On now until February 28, 2027

Spotlighting the power of Black style, Sunday Best traces the histories of migration, activism, self-determination, and fashion design, woven into the enduring ritual of dressing in one’s “best” clothing. Told through displays of fashion, visual art, ephemera, and time-based media, this expansive exhibition considers the use of style and self-fashioning in Black diasporic communities, from the 1880s to the present.

We love the fluidity in these amazing fine art prints by Barbara Cole. Barbara Cole These images are from Barbara’s newest series, RendezVous.

Rendezvous is an underwater photo series where the body vanishes, and what covers it becomes the person. Suspended in water, dresses turn into shapeshifting stand-ins: breathing, bending, and drifting as if alive. In that fluid transformation, fashion becomes identity in motion, something to try on, remix, and release beyond the rules that box us in.

Rendezvous will be showing at Galerie de Bellefeuille Montreal opening November 12th

We love the nostalgia is these wonderful adhesive vinyl prints by WOO SEE-MING WOO SEE-MING photography

You can see them in person now at Gallery 44! Gallery 44
Exhibition:
From the Laurentian Highlands to a Higher Place
Sept 18 - Nov 7 in the Member’s Gallery Gallery 44 members

Message from the artist:
“With this exhibition, I wanted to create a slipstream effect where the visitor’s gaze flows from one image to the next.

Spanning the east wall to the west wall of the Gallery 44 Members’ Gallery, I sought to have a continuous, twenty-foot-long, “ribbon” of images to help carry that gaze.

To pull this off, I knew my choice of print media had to be adhesive vinyl and I knew I had to work with a fine-art printing service I could trust. And this trust has paid off because the quality of the printing as well as the material itself has helped make my artistic goal a reality. Thank you, Total Image Works! I look forward to working with you again.”

We love the beauty in these colourful ocean views captured by Joe Lombard.

These images were part of his Aquatic Realms exhibition, presented at the Hatch Gallery of Contemporary Art, where Joe could share his passion for underwater photography with proceeds donated to the Trillium Health Partners Foundation Hatch Global

Joe Lombard is an accomplished underwater photographer inspired by a lifelong connection to the ocean and the quiet mysteries of nature. Drawn to the way so much marine life exists in complete darkness, Joe’s photography captures the beauty and fragility of underwater life, inviting viewers to explore these rarely seen worlds through his lens.

Inkjet Lustre print, mounted to ACP, finished with a complimentary black shadowbox frame.

We are mesmerized watching these impressively large Fine Art Photographs printing on our Epson printer. Barbara Cole

“Amilie” and “Camille” are from Barbara’s 2020 Series, Appearances.

In Appearances, Barbara Cole attributes her dreamlike photography to “portraits” of anthropomorphized flowers. As the title of the series suggests, these images ask what it means to possess a form (human or otherwise) and what is considered worthy to be the subject of an artist’s attention. This exploration inFine to transformation, nature, and beauty is marked by Cole’s exquisite use of water as a medium that naturally reshapes form.

By anthropomorphizing these flowers with stunning finesse, flitting between what we perceive as photography and painting, Cole expands the possibilities of the photograph and the act of empathy altogether. Isolated like all of us during lockdown, Cole began this series out of necessity but also as an exercise in connection. Each flower is given a human name, imbuing them with personalities which, especially during a time of isolation, remind us of personalities we have all been longing to reconnect with.

By alluding to traditional representations of flowers through her unique contemporary lens, the photographs in Appearances embody a timeless sensibility that likewise further expands Cole’s prolific body of work.
