Filena got ready for her wedding with her two daughters, Mia and Cali. From being the first to see her in the wedding dress to helping Filena put on her shoes, they were by her side every step of the way. Watching the girls be affectionate with her gave me a glimpse into their everyday lives and their special bond.

My grandma wasn’t a fancy person, but she always wore pearl earrings. She didn’t have a jewelry box. She kept her accessories in pill boxes and empty containers. After she passed, I kept her earrings in a nice box so I could visit them and occasionally wear them. It’s astounding how a small heirloom can be so invaluable.

… You just had to be there
After seeing Anora, I’ve been contemplating how to use primary colors like red and blue to evoke emotion and tell a story. Red used to be the color to avoid for weddings. It was too bright, too bold, too eye catching. You didn’t want your day to be accidentally confused with Christmas or Valentine’s Day. But now red has a big modern revival.

4. Recognize some of these beautiful faces? I love when I get to see past couples at their friend’s weddings
