A morning with T & I

We still dream about this one. A morning spent creating with T & I at Golden Ears they won our February giveaway, and truly, we couldn’t have asked for a better couple to share it with. They drove all the way down from Rêve just to do this session with us.

When we were chatting, we asked them when they felt most connected during the day and for them, it was sharing a coffee down by the lake before things began.

How precious is that!

Honestly, these two felt less like clients and more like friends by the end of it. Just the best kind of day!

C & G’s ~ Adventure Elopement, Kananaskis AB ✨

These two went to the same high school and never once spoke.

It took a Halloween party in 2018 a shared conversation, a bit of coaching, and a whole spring and summer of “just very good friends” that absolutely everyone around them saw straight through before they finally faced the truth in 2019.

These two live for the outdoors hiking, birdwatching, camping, nature in all its forms. So when they spent two months roaming Alberta and BC by van in 2021 and laid eyes on the beautiful Rocky Mountains for the first time, that was it.

They said their legal vows back home with the people they love, and saved this for just the two of them a hike up into the wild.

C & G, thank you for trusting us with your memories. Every hyped-up message in the lead-up, every ounce of your goofy wholehearted joy, it followed us all the way up the mountain.

H & R waited a long time for this day, and they knew exactly what they wanted from it to be beside each other, have a good time, and not stress the small stuff.

A heartfelt first look with her dad. The boys chasing record-cover energy down the road. We made a few new furry friends along the way. And the whole day was spent surrounded by family, holding on to each other, laughing until dark.

I don’t usually take on family sessions.

But Susa isn’t just a client I’ve known her family for many years. So when her niece was coming into town with her little girl and the family wanted some memories captured, I felt genuinely honored to be asked.
I didn’t want it to feel set up or forced.

I wanted it to feel like exactly what it was an evening spent with family. Chatting. Laughing. Telling stories and pulling out old photo albums. Three generations in one backyard, connecting the way they always have.

That’s exactly how it turned out.

These two are long distance so whenever they get to be together it’s a big deal and we just had the best time laughing and giggling.

Mom and Dad 🤍

Back in South Africa this March, I got to photograph my parents in the town and on the beach where my mom grew up the same beach where my dad would come find her on his days off from the Navy. It’s also the beach I grew up on, the one we still return to as a family.

My parents have been married 36 years. Through all of it, they’ve shown up for each other with so much love, grace, compassion, and steadiness. They are, without question, my biggest role models.

This session was never about getting nice photos. It was about capturing their story together, in the place they keep coming back to. The waves. The laughing. The quiet moments where they forget I’m even there.

C & E’s 1 year anniversary session 🤍

I actually met these two last summer at friends birthday party so when C reached out wanting to do photos for their anniversary I was so excited!

We celebrated by going back to the spot they met and meandered along the same trail to the river the same way they did on their first date. These two were so comfy with one another like being with your best friend.
