Every time when I look up at the sky and see this combination of colors, I recall what my mom told me when I was a kid. “The sky looks like this because there is a princess washing her hair up there. Those colors are from the shampoo she is using.” I still giggle when I remember that explanation and think to myself that one day, when I have my own kids, I may tell them the same thing, to nurture their imagination. There are past memories that linger so long with me. They follow me to this distant land and when there is a chance, they will resurface to remind me of an eventful childhood with my beloved family.

Such a beautiful dragonfly! The very first time I’ve seen a dragonfly with a pair of black wings. Back in my Asian home country, dragonflies’ commonly seen colors are green and orange. I chased it around with my phone for a few minutes before it settled down and posed for this lovely picture 😄

I don’t like being outside in the winter, stepping onto the snow and having it fall into my shoes if I’m lazy enough that day not to put my boots on. However, I always adore the sight of snow, just like it is in these two photos, pure and calm.

I went to the Spadina Museum last week. It was a fun and informative experience. I got to know the museum’s name is pronounced a bit differently from the street’s and station’s names. ‘Spa-deenah’ is the proper way to pronounce it, not ‘spuh-die-nah’. Luckily, I got here around Christmas. Look how festive and cozy the house is! The guide was charming, enthusiastic and funny. The museum is free and offers guided tours at certain hours. It’s right next to Casa Loma, a bit smaller than the castle, but it went farther back in history and the stories about the families living here are exciting, and also sad at the same time, to hear. Pay it a visit and you won’t regret.

I went here today for my visa application. I really love the front yard with oaks and beeches. They gave me a sense of peace but also horror 😅

This house was built in 1930 by George Howard Ferguson, Premier of Ontario, from 1923 to ‘30. The Toronto Public Library Board bought this house and it became the Music Library Branch, which was then moved in 1977. The house remained empty until 1980, when the Religious Order of the Cenacle bought it as a retreat house. In 1988 Upper Canada Development purchased it and made extensive renovations, but were unable to hold on to it due to a downturn in the real estate market and it became the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea.

As I work from home, I don’t normally go out this early in the morning in the fall. I was caught off guard seeing this thick mist this morning on my way to the dentist. It was beautiful indeed but also quite terrifying, ’cause I’m a horror movie fan. This definitely reminds me of ‘The Mist’. While taking these photos, I was wondering if a te****le reached out and snatched me away 😂
