Does my dog need to sit and look at the camera?

No, they sure don’t. Some of the sweetest moments are when they are looking at you. The happy look on their face when they see you is something that I capture, because we all know when we see these images who they are looking at by the adorable look on their face.

And some dogs and cats aren’t comfortable looking at me and my camera and may be scared. I never push a pet to look at me.

Yes, we can try toys, treats, and even you (behind me) to get them to look at me, but if they don’t look, that is totally okay.

Most of the time, the most beautiful images are the ones where they aren’t looking at me - it is when they are looking at you. Because they love you and you can see it written all over their face.

Ok, so I wanted to talk a little about the process and how it goes from contacting me to creating wall artwork.

After you reach out, we book a planning session and go through all of the details for your session, I get to know more about your pup or cat, and we book your session date.

Next - the fun part - the session! A fun filled evening at a pet-friendly and safe spot and loads of snuggles with your pet.

Then, time to create the artwork. We go through all of your images and find the ones that you love the most and then discuss how you want to display your pup or cat in your home. We find the perfect spot in your home for your wall artwork, I do a mockup to show you how it will look in your home showing you the exact images you are thinking of turning into artwork, and then the artwork is ordered.

Last but most definitely not least - your artwork arrives and you get to see it for real for the very first time. Delivered to your home, ready to hang, ready to love.

I have been busy working on the Tails of the Okanagan Volume 2 book and the book is going to feature two Paws it Forward Dog Rescue dogs. One of these dogs is Beau - such a sweet boy and did so amazing at his session. Now, I have great news because he has already been adopted! I love hearing happy endings to stories like this and for him to have found his forever home.

If you want to see more about Beau and more amazing dogs in the Okanagan, the Tails of the Okanagan Volume 2 book will be out late this year. Stay tuned for updates. 🙂

Why book a session with your pet and get custom artwork for your home?

🐾 Time flies too fast. Puppies grow to adults. Kittens are only so little for a short time. And before you know it, your pet is a senior. Each stage of life is a memory you want to have.
