Patrick Kavanagh Photography

Patrick Kavanagh Photography 20 years of digital photography experience photographing pretty much everything. In Southern Alberta, Canada. From Windsor Ontario, Canada.

Photography has been a serious hobby of mine since I was in high school. So much has changes since I used film and slides. Fast forward and I am still enjoying the hobby using the latest and greatest technology in Photoshop, Lightroom and Topaz. Along the way I taught myself how to edit images using Photoshop's LAB Color Space. Have sold pictures, photographed weddings, family portraits but I real

ly enjoy bird photography, macro, landscapes as well as playing around in photoshop KARtooning images. https://www.instagram.com/kartooned.pictures/ and https://www.instagram.com/patrickkavanagh.ca/ and https://www.flickr.com/photos/the_kav. Flickr has annoyed me in this last year and I am not posting any images there at this time. If you go to https://patrickkavanagh.myportfolio.com/home you will see all of my social media connections.

Pictures from last week include a Bittern standing straight and flying, a crow eating a gopher and a Grackle looking all mean-like. Southern Alberta, Canada.

So its a cold and rainy day with some wet snow falling and I need a break from bird pictures! Out of the blue I thought, I wonder if I can find a good starting image of the Shroud of Turin to edit .....because, you know, they haven't asked me yet.

I found a larger image and had to treat it like a film negative and had to invert it to show the image better.

Below:
Original - Inverted negative with some contrast adjustments - My final take on the image after a whole bunch of tweaks and adjustments.

A fun little project that makes you think as well.

IS ONE OF THESE BIRDS FISHING with BAIT?

Here are some Red Necked Grebes.
If you look closely one of them has what looks like a thin fish skin in its mouth.

The second picture shows a laying down posture along the water appearing to be "fishing" with this bait.

Any thoughts on this? Do they do this?
