Test design! - Catch this pattern on a kookum near you 😉🍓 What background colours would you like to see? I know the orange is quite hard on the eyes, I will be lightening that significantly.

I found actual templates for Red Bubbles items! Soooooo I will be tweaking and reworking my strawberries to fit on all kinds of products. I will post when strawberry items are live!

I've started selling some of my work on Red Bubble! You can get it on a variety of things like, pillows, water bottles, buttons, notebooks; but it is mostly stickers. Please keep in mind everything made is all in good humor (I think I'm hilarious) The current designs (other than my recent SPIRITS art piece that is uploaded on there) were some quick pieces to get something on the shop and may not be on there for very long. Any questions please don't hesitate to reach out! https://www.redbubble.com/people/kiwetinohk/shop?asc=u

“weeds in the garden, snakes in the soul. everyday passing they grow, they grow.”

Insipred by the song SPIRITS by . More specifically the bridge. It just hits different. The weeds drawn are local weeds to Manitoba. The snakes didn’t turn out the way I had envisioned, but their colouring is what is on the SPIRITS album.

I am a person who is very heavily influenced and inspired by music. I have always been. Lately I’ve been been into emo, dreamo, progressive rock/post-hardcore, alternative metal, and punk. So here is your 🚨edgy art posts 🚨 alert because there is going to be more where this came from lol.

It has unfortunately been a long long time since I have posted here. Since my last post it, life has ebbed and flowed. I am hoping to do more and be more active here. It’s time to stop digging this hole. It’s time to climb out.

Tansi | Hello, Welcome! I am Madison. I am the owner of Kîwetinohk studio.

I’ve been wanting to make an official, well thought out “hello welcome” post for a since I launched my business. I just never knew where to start. So… here it is! Hi!! I don’t have an updated photo of myself, so I made a graphic of me 🥰

As stated above, my name is Madison. I am a proud indigenous person of Métis decent. My heritage includes Swampy and Plains Cree. As well as some Scottish, Ukrainian and German I believe? The full shebang! I am 22 years old and full of charm. My current hobbies include watching the twilight movies over and over, expressing myself through different medias of art, playing video games, singing, and playing my instruments.

I am a graphic artist who dabbles in other artistry paths such as motion graphics, videography and photography. Everything I’ve learned was either second hand knowledge from friends, family, and colleagues, taught to me in high school, or self taught! YouTube is a great tool!

My plans for launching my own little business is to share my art with the world, and help bring others ideas to life. While I maybe new to the game and need a little extra help or patience here and there, I am quick to learn and adapt. You can do anything if you’re passionate enough!

If you have any questions for me, advice, or comments please don’t hesitate to share! I am always open for conversation 🧡

- Where you think they would work
- Where they live (town/city/village, province/state)
- A bio you’d think they have (or I can make a generic one)

Computers for Schools Manitoba will be closed September 30th in observance of the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. We will resume normal hours October 1st (8:30am – 4:30pm)

What is National Truth and Reconciliation Day?
The National Day of Truth and Reconciliation is a federal statutory holiday that allows the public a chance to recognize and remember the intergenerational devastation that residential schools have brought to Indigenous families and communities, and to honour those who have been affected by this injustice.

What can you do on this day?
Wear an orange shirt, reflect, listen and learn. Be a part of the healing process.

Hand drawn piece inspired by Cierra Roulette, the shawl dancer on ‘s live stream today. I highly recommend heading to their page and watching the lives. So gorgeous, had me crying at work!

I’ve included my process on how I created this piece for those who are curious.

Rylee Nepinak is biking from Vancouver, BC to Halifax, Nova Scotia for the community of Tataskweyak. His journey started on August 11th, 2021.

Tataskweyak is a small community located just off the PR280 in northern Manitoba. Sadly, in the past year there has been 13 su***des in the community with 4 of them being in the past two months. The community has been in a state of emergency since July 14th, 2021.

Rylee is raising money on his GoFundMe page https://gofund.me/89f6e8b2

Mental health support is very few and far between in northern Manitoba. What we do have for support is stretched very very thin. If you or someone you love or know is thinking of su***de please reach out. Help is out there. The world is a better place with you in it

Tansi | Hello!
Here is a little graphic on how to pronounce kîwetinohk.
Kîwetinohk translates to North.

After careful consideration about my company (and some very helpful marketing research) I’ve decided I’m sticking with Kîwetinohk Studio. I was contemplating going by both Cree and English translation (Kîwetinohk-North Studio) but it just doesn’t feel right to me. Almost feels like I’m suppressing my heritage in a way.

If this decision drives any potential business away, then thats 100% on me. But I really do hope people who are looking into my business judge me by my skills and open heart, not just by a word that is not in English.

I want to be the voice that helps all walks of life embrace their heritage, and that starts with my fellow First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples right here in Canada.
