People all around the world ask me to edit photos for them, for many different reasons.
Infant Loss is the reason that touches me most deeply.
I used to work as a nurse in the high risk labor and delivery unit and I used to take portraits like these in the hospital space. I remember the harsh lighting, the generic blankets, the sterile environments that made the grief and the reverence so much harder to lean into.
It means the world to me to be able to now use my sensitivity, artistry and skills to make these portraits more dignified and beautiful.
