Today is international pet day, so here's a little introduction to our pet family.

We have Mia our rescue English setter, shy, nervous, gentle as can be, and extremely loving and adorable.

Ada, our Spanish girl, a true athlete, even at 9yo, she's still running at full speed, and dancing like a ballerina.

Woolfie, our Spanish rescue boy. Mr Suave and sophisticated. He's a HUGE extrovert and loves people and getting all the attention. He can do more tricks than our dog.

Then Jelly, our Swiss calico girl. She's feisty and fierce...doesn't take any nonsense from anyone...but also extremely sweet and affectionate when she's in the mood. Don't let that baby face fool you, she'll slice any intruders in half without a second thought.

Who is a part of your pet family? Dogs, cats, horses...rabbits, mice? Introduce them please....

A huge thanks to everyone for coming along to the vernissage on Saturday night. You made it truly special and an evening I won't forget any time soon. So much emotion and joy was there, through sharing our senior dogs stories, and honouring these beautiful creatures we're blessed to have in our lives.

Thanks for the many personal messages you sent me afterwards, I was very touched and it's made my heart happy to read these.

Un immense merci à tous d'être venus au vernissage samedi soir. Vous avez rendu cette soirée vraiment spéciale et inoubliable. Tant d'émotion et de joie étaient présentes, grâce au partage des histoires de nos chiens âgés et à l'hommage rendu à ces magnifiques créatures qui font partie de nos vies.

Merci pour tous vos messages personnels, j'ai été très touchée et cela m'a fait chaud au cœur de les lire.

A little Christmas present to my dog and cat clients this year.

A fun Christmas photo of your animal, which you're free to share and use as you will. Thanks for trusting me to capture memories of your precious animals.

I could only add 20 photos on a carousel, so some have been left out sadly.

And for the sake of sensitivity, i haven't done dogs that have passed away this year. But if your dog has gone over the Rainbow bridge and you'd like a photo like this, just message me and I'll sort it out. I didn't want to be insensitive.

I'm starting to put together the gallery photos with their letters of dedication to each dog from their families.

I have to admit, I have laughed and had a tear or two reading these stories, they are so incredibly beautiful.

I'm brimming over with excitement about this project, and can't wait to read the rest of the stories, and see the final gallery come together.

Just waiting on some more stories and I can start applying to art galleries to make this happen!! 🥰🤩

How did I manage to get this selfie?

I thought I'd post here how I got this photo....as pretty much everyone has asked me HOW did I get it?

First of all I trained our dog to do a "selfie" pose, where she puts her paws on my arms first of all and gets lots of praise and rewards, I then advanced her paws towards my shoulders with a verbal cue. Once she was comfortable with that, I lured her head forward, and next to mine using treats.

Training her to do the "selfie" pose was actually very easy, she learnt it very quickly in about 5-10 mins, and I've been doing it for maybe 3 mins a day for a week, but she's really got it now and understands what I'm asking of her...and of course she loves getting some treats and LOTS of praise and cuddles for being so clever. She thrives more from praise than treats, she's not one to really work for treats our girl. Don't get me wrong, she'll take the treats, but she'll work more for praise and knowing we're excited to see her doing her thing.

So photo on the left of Mia doing her selfie pose training and looking rather pleased with herself....and then the final result.

And what about you, would you love to have a photo of your animal and yourself like this? Then I'd strongly suggest you train them to do the selfie pose, it's not that difficult...our girl isn't that easily trained....but she's managed it. And of course it helps if you have a professional photographer on hand, rather than doing it as a selfie. There's a lot of moving parts here.

My girl and me. I've wanted to do a photo like this of us both for a while....and finally this afternoon it happened. It's an extremely difficult photo to capture, lots and lots of deleted photos, but we got there in the end.

Ma fille et moi. Ça faisait un moment que je voulais faire une photo comme celle-ci de nous deux… et finalement, cet après-midi, c'est arrivé. C'est une photo extrêmement difficile à prendre, avec plein de photos effacées, mais on y est finalement parvenus.
