Thinking about what stays with us forever: the unconditional love within a family. Even though I was a stranger to them — family I hadn’t known until then — they welcomed me as their own and shared their history and stories with me. I want to thank them for the trust they placed in me and the openness with which they embraced me.

From IT FLIES, INVISIBLE - in 2018, I went on a journey to uncover hidden parts of my family history, exploring connection, memory, and belonging. it flies, invisible unfolds as a kaleidoscopic visual narrative — where moments shift, overlap, and dissolve, reminding us that relationships are never fixed, only ever evolving.

my project IT FLIES, INVISIBLE takes its title from a short poem, written in Turkish on the
back of a photograph, roughly translated into English as follows:
“Youth is like a bird—it flies, invisible, forever a memory, never erased in your heart. One day, when I am no longer, keep this photograph as a memory. (Hüdaverdi Öztürk)” This idea also underpins the exhibition—a fleetingness of the moment, an endless memory—and at the same time these lines show how artistic sensibility and inspiration are interwoven
within a family across generations and distances.

IT FLIES, INVISIBLE moves through the in-between —
between presence and disappearance, clarity and blur.

In 2018, I went on a journey to uncover hidden parts of my family history, exploring connection, memory, and belonging. 'it flies, invisible' unfolds as a kaleidoscopic visual narrative — where moments shift, overlap, and dissolve, reminding us that relationships are never fixed, only ever evolving.

The works trace what lingers: fragments of intimacy, gestures of care,
and the quiet imprints of familial ties — visible and invisible at once.

For the finissage, the space opens one last time:
a moment to move through the constellation as it is,
before it slips, shifts, and disperses.
