Analog photography and cyanotype experimentations I am a visual artist based in Nouméa, New Caledonia. From the manual focus to developing in the dark room.

I work mostly on installations with a strong focus on photography. After more than 10 years of digital pictures, I was longing to get back to the whole photographic process. That is the reason why I have been focusing on analog pictures. I am obsessed with the definition of being a photographer. Today, the access to a camera is easy. Imagery is everywhere. Nobody wants to read long articles: a mea

ningful image will do the job just fine. In the middle of this overwhelming flow, what can I —as an artist— add to a world already saturated with visual contents?

Being part of a collective exhibition at Supalife Kiosk is a big step for me. After working for years as an analog photographer, I changed my media to screenprinting during the pandemic. I'm still relatively new in the field, but completely addict to it.
I'm thrilled that my first screenprint exhibition takes place with my Stattlab family 💚

A big thank you to .hirsch for setting this up gracefully and to the who took care of the curating. The way the team arranged the artwork from so many diverse artists works so well. Go have a look!

I met Miriam Schwamm, a colorful and unique human being, in 2018 in New Caledonia.
She is a visual artist, born in Germany, who lived 30 years in New Caledonia.
I had the chance to meet her in Noumea, just before she moved to France with the project of creating one of the biggest collections of New Caledonian arts in France.
From the 19th of October to the 14th of November, she will exhibit 66 artworks by 33 artists from New Caledonia. I am honored to be part of them!

I will not be able to join in person because of the current tight travel policies.But if you are around, I highly encourage you to go there.
You'll find below all the infos (in French) about the event.

During these uncommon times, being able to travel through art seems like one of the best alternatives 🏝

Hey, hey, guess who is the Stattlab member of the week 😎

Stattlab is an artist collective based in Berlin, and I'm part of it since 2016. It is a very unique place, with all the infrastructures for screenprinting and black and white analog pictures.
In the past, Stattlab was based in the showers of a former swimming pool, which was turned into a night club.
Today, Stattlab is a big workplace gathering more than 85 artists.
After 2 years away from this community, it's great to feel that the family vibes are still the same !

Bonjour à tous!
Une petit update après un moment d'absence et un résumé de ce qui s'est passé durant les derniers mois.
En novembre 2019, j'ai déménagé à Melbourne avec un Working Holiday Visa, au moment où les feux de forêts ont éclaté.
J'ai donc préféré changer mes plans et j'ai spontanément réservé un billet pour l'Inde. J'y ai passé plusieurs mois.
En mars, la crise du Covid a éclaté. Je suis donc rentrée en France in extremis pour le confinement. Durant ces longues semaines où le temps s'écoulait au ralenti, j'ai retourné la question dans tous les sens : quelle serait ma prochaine destination ?
Et puis, la réponse est arrivée comme une évidence : retourner à Berlin, ma ville-muse, où j'ai déjà vécu plusieurs années.

C'est donc la fin de mes aventures calédoniennes.

Hello everyone!
Long time no see :)
The last six months have been a bit hectic.
In November 2019, I moved to Melbourne with a Working Holiday visa. Then the bush fires started, so I changed my plans.
I spontaneously booked a flight to India and stayed there for a couple of months.
In March, the Corona made me fly back to France in a rush and I stayed there under lock down for a couple of weeks.
During these long weeks, I questioned myself about the next step.
And I chose to come back to my soulmate city: Berlin.

I'm really happy and grateful for the projects I did in New Caledonia, it was magical

From now on, I'll be publishing my posts in English only.

Dernier jour pour découvrir ou re-découvrir l'exposition Impressions Urbaines au Centre d'art de Nouméa.

Le but d'Impressions Urbaines est d'amener la pratique artistique dans les milieux urbains. Une thématique qui m'est chère, comme certains l'ont peut-être remarqué.

Pour ce projet, j'y installé des ateliers pop up dans les espaces publics. Les participants étaient invités à connecter avec l'environnement urbain pour composer un cyanotype à partir des éléments récoltés.

Tous les travaux exposées ici sont donc l'œuvre des citadins !
J'aime l'idée de donner au public l'opportunité d'exposer dans institution culturelle.

Un grand merci à la Ville de Nouméa pour m'avoir invitée à participer à ce projet.

It's the very last day to discover the exhibition "Impressions urbaines" at the Centre d'art de Nouméa.

The goal of Impressions Urbaines is to bring artistic practice to urban areas. An important theme to me, as you may have noticed.

For this project, I set up several pop up workshops in public spaces. Participants were invited to connect with the urban environment and compose a cyanotype print from the elements collected.

I like the idea of giving the public the opportunity to exhibit in a cultural institution.

A big thank you to the City of Noumea for inviting me to participate in this project.

Vous avez remarqué ce panneau sur la route de l'Anse Vata à Nouméa ? Il vous intrigue ?
Il s'agit d'un projet artistique !
J'ai loué un grand panneau publicitaire de 4x3 mètres pour y afficher la photo d'un cyanotype géant imprimée sur une toile tendue.
Ce panneau se situe sur la route de l'Anse Vata, au niveau de 'Chez Florence'. Il est visible lorsque l'on va en direction de la plage.

Le panneau publicitaire, détourné, devient lieu d'exposition et l'automobiliste devient audience.
Ceci dans l'objectif de faire reconnecter le citadin avec son décor quotidien et de l'interpeler.
Que représente ce panneau ? Pourquoi n'y a-t-il aucune marque ?
Qu'essaie-t-on de me vendre ?

Ce projet a été financé par la Province Sud.

Ce week-end, j'ai animé des ateliers d'initiation au cyanotype au Château Hagen.
Cette fois ci, nous avons imprimé des cartes postales pour coller au thème de l'animation, le "voyage artistique".
Malgré un vent coriace (ce qui complique un peu le procédé), les participants ont tenu bon et ont produit de beaux résultats.
Au total, une trentaine de participants dans une bonne ambiance trans-générationnelle.
Merci à ceux qui ont participé !

This weekend, I led cyanotype initiation workshops at the Château Hagen.
The theme of the animation being the "Artistic Journey", and we printed cyanotype postcards.
In total, thirty participants of all age and really nice vibes.
