HRH Prince David immediately inspected the newly installed Vitsœ shelves. I’ll report back whether he still climbs up once they are full of books. In Brooklyn, at least, I had to clear the top shelf of the second unit, as it served as his preferred sleeping spot for a couple of years.

Being stuck in a five star golf resort in the far Thuringian country side has its upsides: There is no shortage of reasonably good food and booze. It also is rather quiet.

So I got up at 10:30 am, had a long breakfast with my family including two glasses of champaign and went back to bed. I woke up again at 7 pm and just have enough time for a pre-dinner cocktail…

Unfortunately, I am stuck at Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land for two nights and there is no easy escape. It takes a 30 minute cab ride to Weimar, a 20 minute regional train ride to Erfurt, and 90 minute express train ride to Berlin to escape this Lynchian nightmare of a golf resort and return to civilization.
