Okay, I have to say… I surprised myself with some of these.

Lately I’ve been paying so much more attention to the color grading of my photos, and seeing all these before & afters compiled next to each other really made me notice the difference.

I think I’m definitely going in the right direction with the aesthetic I’m trying to build, and it’s honestly really nice to see the progress.

Which one surprised you the most?

I always get a little nervous before a session. So, I like to be prepared.

I check the location beforehand, think about some shots I’d like to try, choose my lenses, check my camera, pack my bag… and then check three more times that I didn’t forget the batteries or memory cards. 😂

And sometimes, the preparation is also about thinking about my clients and what they might need.

For this session in Berlin, for example, I knew it was a maternity session, on a very warm day, and Carla was already quite far along in her pregnancy. So I wanted to make sure we didn’t walk around too much, had enough breaks and, most importantly, that they felt comfortable and could save their energy.

This time, I was getting ready to photograph Carla, Bruno and their little baby on the way. 🤍

I love these little moments before a session — getting everything ready, thinking ahead and knowing that in a few hours, I’ll be creating memories for someone else.

I promise I’m really doing the best I can.

Moving to another country has given me so many beautiful things, but it also comes with challenges that people don’t always see on social media.

There are moments of frustration. Moments of doubt. Even an identity crisis sometimes.

Living in a country where I don’t speak my native language means that even simple things can become difficult. It’s something I probably wouldn’t experience the same way if I were living in a place where I could express myself freely.
But I truly believe this journey will be worth it. I believe that every struggle, every uncomfortable moment, and every challenge is helping me grow into a stronger person.

Whenever insecurity shows up, I try to remind myself why I started this journey in the first place.

So… I’ll keep trying.

Some days are really frustrating, but I’m learning to laugh about them too. 🤍
