A friend of mine wanted to propose to his girlfriend, and had fallen in love with the ring Nenya from Lord Of The Rings, the design of that was just a little too heavy for the lucky girl. So we remixed it and made a lighter version. I made a test print at home to make sure it worked on the hand and was comfortable 💍 Then we send it off to Shapeways to be made in 14k white gold. I then took it to a jeweler to get a moissanite fitted and we had the perfect ring 🙌

And she said yes 👰💑

My recreation of the ring found on my property in Denmark. The original was dated between year 375-1066 AD and was found in 1845 on the beach.

It's a very simple ring made of a hexagon rod. It's way more beautiful in person than I had imagined.

My second project was a lighter version of my husbands wedding band. The original ring was turning on his finger every time he was at the computer, distracting him from his work. The challenge was to design it as thin as possible, but still matching the old design with details and dept. I made two Phoenixs wrapping around the ring, much like the old but with the wings folded in for a slimmer design.

Like the tassels, I drew inspiration from the same painting for these pieces. The long baroque trumpet was turned into 3D and into a pendant and earrings. On the earrings I cut out a piece to make room for them to go through the ear.

National Gallery of Denmark had a contest to design jewelry based on some of their paintings. One of my entries was these tassels. Inspiration was drawn from the painting "Trompe l'Oeil with Trumpet, Celestial Globe and Proclamation by Frederik III, 1670" by Cornelius Norbertus Gijsbrechts. It has some cute tassels and I thought they would look nice as a pair of earrings. I let the rope wrap around through the ear, and back to the front again. They are a tiny bit tricky to get on, but they won't fall off 😉
