Our first five nights in Cairo were spent at the gorgeous Intercontinental Semiramis in downtown Cairo.

A grand hotel in both structure and services, but still managed to feel like a home away from home for the days we were there.

The hotel has all the trappings of a 5-Star resort, several restaurant options, high-end facilities and gorgeous views of the River Nile.

A place we would definitely visit over and over again.

Very Nile is an initiative that has developed sustainable means to clean up the River Nile while raising awareness on the importance of protecting our environment.

Through .shop together with the women of Qursaya, they’ve created an everyday lifestyle brand from up-cycled material collected from the Nile.

Forking Around Africa was privileged and honored to have been invited to the Egyptian National Day Celebrations held on the 26th of July at the Embassy residence.

We had the opportunity to speak about our brand as well as showcase a portion of our episode in Egypt, which starts at the source of the Nile in Jinja. H.E Ashraf Swelam Egypt’s ambassador to Uganda accompanied us as we started this great journey from source to mouth.
