‘Levelling up’

To make your wildlife photography more interesting try following some of these techniques.

1. Show the bigger picture
2. Look for patterns and textures
3. Capture species interactions
4. Let nature frame your subject
5. Capture behaviours
6. Depth of field

These are just a few things I like to consider when shooting wildlife.

Follow along for more wildlife inspiration.

‘A Kazakh oasis’

I will never forget the feeling of driving through Kazakhstan. It is a truly vast country with huge areas of nothing, we drove for hours and saw nothing apart from a few small settlements. We were driving in the Almaty region and came across this beautiful river with green vegetation around it which was a nice contrast to the hours of driving through empty plains 🇰🇿

‘Trekking Nepal’

The Annapurna circuit trek offers an exceptional diversity of landscapes, ranging from subtropical forests and terraced farmland to high-altitude deserts, all within a single journey 🏔️
One of the highlights from the trek was getting to meet some of the local people and photographing them along the way

‘Eyes of the Amazon’

When photographing wildlife a great tip is to always make sure to focus on the animals eyes, as this is where our eyes first go when we see a photo. Always keeping the eyes in the centre and in sharp focus is a great place to start.

Every eye of the Amazon tells its own story, but one of my favourites to photograph are the frogs, I think they are pretty cute ☺️

‘The hunter and the hunted’

Very fortunate to have witnessed a tiger dray its spotted deer prey through the jungles of Ranthambore. Made it even better as the tiger in the second shot I was the one who spotted her 😏 but unfortunately I didn’t see the hunt 😫

‘A window into Kyrgyzstan’

When I was in Kyrgyzstan I really enjoyed taking photos of all the doors and windows. I don’t think I have been anywhere before where the doors and windows have so much character. And behind every door was an unbelievable view.

All photos shot on , sometimes the best camera is the one in your pocket!
