Nya:węh gowa to Kaya Joan () for facilitating a beautiful zine-making workshop for the artists of the All Our Relations Collective 💜 it was a blast creating zines inspired by our own journeys and entry points into futurities and sharing space ✨

Come check out my curatorial project, All Our Relations at the Supercrawl festival () September 9th - 11th. Screening times: Friday 9th, 6pm-1am | Saturday 10th, 12pm-1am | Sunday 11th 12pm-7pm 💫

All Our Relations is a creative endeavour with four Indigenous Artists between the ages of 14-22, developing original documentaries centering self-expression and uplifting artistic practices. The Artists, Autumn Tapp, Kianna Powless, Skylar Grace, and Tiffany Silversmith, reflect on how land, community, cosmological and ancestral relations contribute to their artmaking. All Our Relations aspires to illuminate voices, past, present and future, while creating decolonized conventions in art through agency and presence within the mainstream.

Many thanks to the and for their kind contributions to the project!

🌟 Hope to see you there 🌟

Only a few more days to see Born Celestial before it closes on August 13th! ✨💫🌟

Nya:węh gowa to everyone who has visited the exhibition over the past couple of months! My heart is absolutely overflowing with the incredible response to the show.

I am so grateful for the immense growth and learning I had over the past year working on the exhibition. This has been the greatest honour of my life to be the Indigenous Curatorial Resident and to work with such awe-inspiring artists Chyler Sewell (), Celeste Pedri-Spade (), Danielle Boissoneau (), Kaya Joan (), Natalie King () and Nicole Neidhardt () 💜

BIG Nya:węh gowa to all of the artists for sharing their incredible work, to the team at Hamilton Artists Inc. for all of their support! 💫

Sample prototype for my upcoming piece, Guided by reflections, for the Urban Moorings 2 project, curated by Nora Hutchinson & Alexis Moline! It will eventually be a life sized Hodinöhsö:ni’ skydome with AR elements hehe 💫🌱 I experimented burning skydome designs into wood today

Today is the day Born Celestial will be open to the public! My heart is so full and I couldn’t be more proud of this exhibition! It has been an honour to work with and learn from these incredible artists and human beings, Danielle Boissoneau (), Kaya Joan (), Natalie King (), Nicole Neidhardt (), Celeste Pedri-Spade () and Chyler Sewell (). Nya:węh gowa for your friendship, trust and being a part of this journey with me. I am beyond grateful to share space with everyone. And I can’t wait for community, ancestors and kin to feel the beautiful energy in the exhibition!
✨🌙🌕🪐💫

This is my very first curatorial exhibition and I have been profoundly inspired and humbled by the experience! Thank you to Hamilton Artists Inc. () for all of your support and the opportunity to be the inaugural Indigenous Curatorial Resident.

Stay tuned for installation pics!!

✨✨✨✨✨✨

The deep impact of colonial harms on Indigenous communities necessitates the emergence of new potentialities.

By using storytelling to collapse the future into the present, Born Celestial imagines unearthed futures beyond settler colonialism where Indigenous knowledge systems thrive. Born Celestial embodies futurities, drawing from human and other-than-human relations, community and familial knowledge, star systems, and Creation stories. Empowering a (re)connection to self and an uplifting of community, Born Celestial inspired healing and hopeful pathways for the seven generations to come.

Artists Danielle Boissoneau, Kaya Joan, Natalie King, Nicole Neidhardt, Celeste Pedri-Spade, and Chyler Sewell access love, memory and knowledge from ancestor relatives unbound by material form and linear notions of space and time. Navigating between worlds and constellations, the artists activate the dreams of ancestors, contemporary kin, and future relatives in a present temporality.
