Granny didn’t raise you to shrink yourself.
Not your ideas.
Not your dreams.
Not the strange things you’re drawn to.
Not the life you secretly want to create.
I think we spend an extraordinary amount of time making ourselves more reasonable.
Making the dream a little smaller.
The clothes a little safer.
The idea a little easier to explain.
The house a little more like everyone else’s.
The art a little less strange.
Until one day you realise that all the things you edited out were probably the most you parts.
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about that with House of ROSE too.
What started as images on a screen is slowly finding its way onto walls, into homes, onto fabric, into objects , and perhaps into places you can actually step inside.
And I don’t really want to make the dream more reasonable anymore.
I want to see how big this little world can become.
Granny didn’t raise us to shrink ourselves.
Perhaps she didn’t raise our dreams to stay small either. 🌹
