Granny didn’t raise you to shrink yourself.

Not your ideas.
Not your dreams.
Not the strange things you’re drawn to.
Not the life you secretly want to create.

I think we spend an extraordinary amount of time making ourselves more reasonable.

Making the dream a little smaller.
The clothes a little safer.
The idea a little easier to explain.
The house a little more like everyone else’s.
The art a little less strange.

Until one day you realise that all the things you edited out were probably the most you parts.

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about that with House of ROSE too.

What started as images on a screen is slowly finding its way onto walls, into homes, onto fabric, into objects , and perhaps into places you can actually step inside.

And I don’t really want to make the dream more reasonable anymore.

I want to see how big this little world can become.

Granny didn’t raise us to shrink ourselves.
Perhaps she didn’t raise our dreams to stay small either. 🌹

Imagine never wondering what to post again.

No endless scrolling. No staring at Canva. No what on earth am I posting tomorrow?

Just open the Mood Library, find the image that feels like you, and get on with your day.

Maybe the life that feels like you doesn’t arrive all at once.

Maybe you build it in tiny decisions.

The room you want to wake up in.
The people you want around your table.
The clothes you feel most yourself in.
The work you want to make.
The places you keep dreaming about.
The things you say no to.
The things you finally say yes to.

We spend so much time trying to work out what our life should look like.

But I’m starting to think our feelings usually know long before our heads catch up.

You notice it in the images you keep saving.
The places that make you exhale.
The ideas that won’t leave you alone.
The strange little things you’re drawn to for no logical reason.

Perhaps finding your way back to yourself is simply learning to pay attention to them.

And then, little by little, building a life that feels suspiciously like you. 🌸🌼

The places you’re drawn to are rarely random.

She’s here to be alive.

And I think she would have very little patience for spending three hours wondering what to post on Instagram.

She’d choose the image that made her feel something.
Write what she actually wanted to say.
Post it.
Then go outside and live a little.

Maybe that’s part of why I created the Mood Library.

A growing world of 1,000+ images, artworks, words and ideas to come back to when you don’t know what to post, what your brand should feel like, or you simply need to see something that sparks something again.

Less searching.
Less stressing.
Less creating for the algorithm.

More choosing what feels like you.

When you finally find the images that feel like you.

The Mood Library is open.

I think I lived a whole year in two months.

Today we flew from Lamu to Nairobi. Tomorrow, we continue our way home.

And looking back through my camera roll, things that happened only a few weeks ago somehow feel like another lifetime.

Paris. Lamu. The boys. Motorbikes on dusty roads. The ocean. Making art. Working from strange little corners. People I met. Decisions I made. Things that went completely wrong. Things I never could have planned.

So many pictures. So many memories.

It was raw.
It was intense.
It was beautiful.

For a while, it felt like we were living outside the bubble of normal life altogether.

And maybe that’s what I’ll remember most.

How much life can fit into a small amount of time when you’re actually inside it.

I think it changed me.

And somewhere between all those places, images and experiences, I’ve been finding my way back to myself too.

Perhaps that’s why I keep creating and collecting images.

They hold feelings when words can’t quite do it.

The Mood Library has become a little archive of those feelings — more than 1,000 images, artworks, places, ideas and visual stories to create with, post, print, journal with or simply get lost in.

When you finally find the images that feel like you.

Your Inner Granny knows: the right time is now.

Not when you feel completely ready.
Not when everyone understands.
Not when life becomes less complicated.

Now.

She wants you to jump in the sea.

Wear the strange thing.

Make the art.

Take the trip.

Start the idea you keep talking yourself out of.

Choose the life that feels like you, even when it doesn’t make perfect sense to anyone else.

I think that’s why I created my Inner Granny in the first place.

She’s the 80-year-old version of us who already knows which things mattered and which things we spent far too much time worrying about.

And lately I’ve been asking her opinion more often.

She is surprisingly decisive.

What would your 80-year-old self tell you to stop waiting for? 🌹

A look inside my creative brain.

I’ve never been particularly interested in staying in one lane.

I can spend a morning building a visual world for a brand, move into an illustration in the afternoon, and end the day working on an abstract piece for OF ROSE ART.

To me, they’re not separate things.

They’re different ways of exploring the same question:

How do you make a feeling visible?

Sometimes it needs a woman in motion.
Sometimes an older woman on a skateboard.
Sometimes almost nothing at all.
A line, a shape, a shadow, a tiny figure inside an enormous space.

And sometimes it becomes an artwork that lives on a wall for years.

My creative direction, photography, imagery, illustrations and abstract work all come from the same place. Observation, instinct, emotion, and a slight obsession with creating worlds you can feel before anyone explains them to you.

Maybe that is why I’ve never wanted to define House of ROSE by a medium.

The medium can change.
The feeling is the signature.

A little peek inside my head.

Maybe the point was never to find my lane. It was to keep following what moves me.

Something is taking shape. 🌹

I’ve been quietly exploring what happens when the House of ROSE world leaves the screen.

Taking some of the drawings and images I’ve been creating and imagining them as things you can actually live with.

On your walls.
In your kitchen.
Wrapped up for someone you love.
Or bought entirely unnecessarily for yourself.

Prints. Tea towels. Little pieces of art. Maybe a few things I haven’t thought of yet.

Not everything you see here will make the cut. I’m still drawing, designing, printing, testing and deciding what deserves to become real.

And since we’re somehow already approaching 91K, I thought we could make a little pact.

If we make it to 100K, I’ll open the doors.

A first small collection of House of ROSE pieces to keep, give, frame, use and hopefully never get bored of.

Until then, I’ll keep playing.

Which one would you want me to make real? 🌙

Take-up space
Your Inner Granny has no interest in making herself smaller.

She’s 80.

She has seen enough life to know that most of the things you’re worrying about right now really don’t matter.

Whether they approve.
Whether it’s too much.
Whether you should wait.
Whether everyone understands.

She wants the big dress.

The bold decision.

The plane ticket.

The ridiculous idea you can’t stop thinking about.

She wants you to make the art, start the thing, say what you mean, love who you love and take up a little more space while you’re here.

I think that’s why I keep coming back to her.

My Inner Granny isn’t really about growing old.

She’s about remembering who I was before I became so concerned with who I was supposed to be.

And lately, I’ve been listening to her a little more.

The Mood Library is where I collect and create these reminders. Images, words, art, interiors and little visual nudges back toward yourself.

When you finally find the images that feel like you.

Finding your way back to yourself.

I don’t think it happens all at once.

It happens in little recognitions.

The things you suddenly want again.
The places that make you feel more alive.
The ideas that won’t leave you alone.
The people around whom you don’t have to perform.
The art that makes you stop for no obvious reason.

Maybe that’s why I’m so fascinated by what we’re drawn to.

Before we can explain it, something in us already knows.

And perhaps finding your way back to yourself is less about becoming someone new…

and more about learning to recognise yourself again.

In the art.
In the choices.
In the life you’re creating.

What has been feeling more like you lately? 🌙
