Print days in the studio are always exciting. Shipped a couple of prints off to new collectors and made some test prints yesterday. Every single time, I’m floored by Hahnemühle Photo Rag Metallic paper — it’s something special. It handles detail in the deep shadows beautifully in a way matte paper simply can’t. That infrared image on top? On matte, it’d be completely muddied. The high Dmax of the metallic paper retains every detail and actually makes those branches glow. When the right image meets the right paper, it just sings. The camera doesn’t do it justice.

What’s your favorite fine art paper — or are you a baryta person? Have you tried this metallic paper? Would love to hear your thoughts. 👇

The Square Colosseum: A Contemporary Viewpoint, No. 4

The last frame. Low, looking up — because sometimes the only honest way to face something this monumental is from below. The arches stack and converge, the corner cuts the sky in half, and a hand reaches in like it’s trying to catch the edge of the building — or maybe the other way around. That’s what I wanted to sit with at the end of this series: the tension between human scale and architectural ambition. What do you feel when something is built to make you feel small? 🏛️

The Square Colosseum: A Contemporary Viewpoint, No. 3

Standing at the corner so you get both facades at once — two grids of arches multiplying in opposite directions, the leading lines pulling you toward a vanishing point that feels infinite.

Italian Rationalism fuses classical Roman monumental forms with modernist abstraction and repetition. The crop in my image was intentional: truncating the top, leaning into the off-center tension rather than fighting it. Sometimes the “incomplete” view is the one that actually holds your eye.

What draws you to a building like this? Drop your thoughts below 👇 and share if this style of architecture lives rent-free in your head too. 🏛️

The Square Colosseum: A Contemporary Viewpoint, No. 2

The Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana is a masterpiece of 20th century Rationalist architecture. I am drawn to the repetitious clean geometric simplicity rather than the ornamentation of Classical Roman design.

Aesthetically which do you prefer: Classical vs Contemporary?

The Square Colosseum: A Contemporary Viewpoint No.1

Some new work that have not been previously published. I enjoyed creating this forthcoming series. It was quite tricky composing and shooting a tilt shift lens hand held.

Ysios, 2025
This is the second set of images which was awarded an honorable mention by . This bodega was expertly designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. The distinctive sinusoidal wave of the reflective aluminum roofline, contrasted with the warm wood façade, creates a kinetic effect in its calm environment — similar to the splash of Spanish red wine, Rioja, poured into the well of a wine glass. What do you think of this bold and intriguing design?

Woke up to happy news on winning an Architecture MasterPrize Award in the Educational Exterior category. MasterPrize is dedicated to celebrating creativity and innovation in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, architectural product design and photography. I’m honored to be recognized by the esteemed jury and to be included in the group of talented photographers from around the world. Next I will post a second set that was awarded an honorable mention.

The winning piece is Salk Institute. My interpretation of Louis Kahn’s architectural brilliance lies in his mastery of forms, shapes, lines, and the deliberate juxtaposition of volumes and their proximity to one another. These elements synergistically culminate in a harmonious fusion of function and aesthetics, showcasing the grandeur of his visionary designs.

One of my dreams was to shoot this location in and it did not disappoint. The designs by Santiago Calatrava and Felix Candela provided endless possibilities including abstracts. This is my starburst in color.
