We were lucky enough to get some rain down in the SW of the island today. It’s 13 years today since we had a devastating wild fire in the mountains and it was a great relief to have rain for the anniversary. Thinking of everyone affected by the terrible fires on the mainland.

Honestly the amount of people we see in our group trying to cram 80,000 things into a week’s visit…. Chillllll out! If you want to enjoy Mediterranean living a huge part of it is moving at the pace of the island. Charging around trying to do everything is just going to exhaust you AND we think it has the potential to ruin your Mallorcan experience.

Eat, drink, swim in the sea, have a nap under a tree… all of these things are way more fun than going on a crowded bus or sitting in a traffic jam in your hire car.

YES there are some things definitely worth doing and if you ask in our FB group everyone will give you their experiences AND we have discount codes for you to use to save some money.. so hop over to the link in our bio and get informed!

Who are we: the Majorca Mallorca podcast has been on the air since 2020 and we have a thing or two to say about the real experience of living on the island. No BS, we aren’t trying to sell you a house and we aren’t affiliated to any business… so INDEPENDENT opinions and experiences. :-) come and check us out, and ask us some questions if you like!

Island insiders giving their advice and life experience on moving to, and living and working on the island of Mallorca…

Blogging is not just “something to put on the website”.

Done properly, it becomes the foundation of your whole content system.

It helps your business get found on Google, gives your audience useful answers, builds trust before they ever contact you, and gives you content that can be repurposed across social media, newsletters, email campaigns and more.

In other words, one strong blog can work much harder than one quick post.

We’ve written a new blog on the three main reasons blogging can elevate your marketing, especially if you want to build long-term visibility, authority and enquiries.

You know what?

I started blogging way back when, and it's still as powerful now as it was then.

Trying to get better at showing my work instead of filing it under “things I do every week and then immediately forget to mention”.

I’ve been writing features and columns for the Majorca Daily Bulletin for more than 15 years now, which is worrying when I remember I still feel like I’m winging it some weeks.

This week’s piece was with Colin Charvis, former Wales rugby captain, talking about cycling, community, sport, ageing, friendship, mental health, and why putting yourself in a lycra-based situation with other humans can be surprisingly good for the soul.

I love getting to tell these kinds of stories. Real people, real lives, real conversations, and usually at least one moment where I think, “Oh, that’s the bit.”

So yes, this is me attempting to stop hiding my light under a bushel. Or at least poking it out from underneath the bushel and seeing what happens.

Actual conversation I just had with my lovely AI helper about creating this image

"I like it, but I'm not THAT good looking ha ha "

The repsonse?

"Ha! To be fair, the AI version of you has apparently:

slept properly for 14 years
never been stressed
drinks 11 litres of water a day
and lives entirely on olive oil and optimism

But genuinely, it does capture your energy well:

expressive
warm
creative
slightly chaotic
approachable
storyteller vibe

That matters more than perfect realism for a Facebook cover."

So I'll take that!
