Heartfelt Condolences on the Passing of Journalist Gatjek Wal 💔🕯️

I am deeply saddened to learn about the tragic passing of our brother and colleague, Journalist Gajek Wel, who served in the Nuer language department at Oromia Broadcasting Network (OBN), following a devastating motorcycle traffic accident.

His sudden loss at Afternoon around 4:00 Pm at such a young age has plunged the media community, the people of Gambella, the Nuer community, and his loved ones into profound grief. Making this tragedy even more painful and heartbreaking, the rider who struck him fled, and neither the driver nor the motorcycle has been found yet as the search continues.😡😡

Journalist Gatjek will always be remembered for his dedication to serving the public, amplifying people's voices, and delivering the truth through his journalism. It is heartbreaking to see how sudden and severe traffic accidents can take away our beloved brothers and sisters in an instant.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of Journalist Gajek Wal, his colleagues, the Gambella and Nuer communities, and all his friends. May the Almighty grant strength and comfort to everyone during this difficult time.

May his soul rest in eternal peace. 🙏🕯️

በኦሮሚያ ብሮድካስቲንግ ኮርፖሬሽን (OBN) የኑዌር ብሔረሰብ ቋንቋ አገልግሎት ጋዜጠኛ የነበረው ወንድማችንና ባልደረባችን ጋዜጠኛ ጋጄክ ወል በተከሰተ አሳዛኝ የሞተር ሳይክል ትራፊክ አደጋ ህይወቱ ማለፉን ስሰማ በከባድ ሐዘን ተመችቻለሁ።

ትላንት ማታ 10 ሰዓት ገደማ እየተንቀሳቀሰ እያለ በደረሰበት ድንገተኛና የፍጥነት አደጋ በለጋ እድሜው ከአጠገባችን ተነጥቋል።

አደጋውን ያደረሰው አሽከርካሪና ሞተር ሳይክሉ እስካሁን ተፈልገው ያልተያዙና ያልተገኙ መሆኑ ደግሞ የደረሰውን ህመም የበለጠ ከባድ እና የሚያስቆጭ ያደርገዋል። ይህ አሳዛኝ ክስተት የመገናኛ ብዙሃን ሙያውን፣ የጋምቤላን ማህበረሰብ፣ የኑዌርን ህዝብ እንዲሁም ወዳጅ ዘመዶቹን በሙሉ ጥልቅ ሐዘን ውስጥ ጥሏል።

ጋዜጠኛ ጋጄክ በሙያው ህዝብን ለማገልገል፣ የህዝብን ድምፅ ለማሰማትና እውነትን ለማቅረብ ያደረገው አስተዋጽኦ ሁልጊዜ ሲታወስ ይኖራል። እንዲህ ያሉ ድንገተኛና ከባድ የትራፊክ አደጋዎች ውድ የሆኑ ወንድሞቻችንንና እህቶቻችንን በቅጽበት ሲነጥቁን ሕመምነቱ እጅግ ከባድ ነው።

ለጋዜጠኛ ጋጄክ ወል ሙሉ ቤተሰቦች፣ ለሥራ ባልደረቦቹ፣ ለጋምቤላና ለኑዌር ማህበረሰብ እንዲሁም ለወዳጆቹ በሙሉ ፈጣሪ መፅናናትንና ብርታቱን እንዲሰጥ ከልብ እመኛለሁ።
