My work here is done…and what a way to end my time at Method Oregon 2026.🍾

So blessed to finally meet my Oregon sparkling wine idol, Tony Soter of Soter Vineyards | Willamette Valley at tonight’s media and trade party at HiFi Wine Bar .

I first interviewed Tony back in the day while writing for the now defunct Pix “The Drop.” I was doing an article on former model and aspiring winemaker Jerry Hall, then married to Moraga Belair winery owner Rupert Murdoch.

Turns out Tony was the original winemaker, pre-Murdoch, for the previous owners - aerospace exec Tom V. Jones and wife Ruth (who, in turn, had purchased the property from the original owner, Hollywood film director Victor Fleming.)

Long story short, Tony’s contribution to the Pix story got edited out, and Hall got edited out of Murdoch’s life, and Moraga Belair.

But I never forgot Tony’s generosity of spirit during that interview, nor his humility.

For me, Tony Soter ranks as the jewel in the crown of Method Oregon.

Postscript:
Good news:As many of you know, I SUCK at selfies. So I’m amazed I had the presence of mind to ask for this photo.

Bad News: i did space when meeting my other hero tonight, writer Ray Isle of Food & Wine . Yeah, he writes about food and wine. But he got my attention years ago simply because the man can write. Period. Full stop.

Anyway, always magical when your idols exceed your expectations. Doubly so tonight.🥂

So much fun doing fine art photo recon this holiday weekend with cohort Amy Peplinski at Kirkland Arts Center (venue for our group@show in September 2027)…

(Shout out to KAC gallery director Jeremy Hurd-McKenney for letting us view the venue…💚condolences to him and husband Craig at the loss of their beloved Lucy🐾💔.)

Hey...I did a thing...my first pop-up gallery show!📸

This past weekend, I participated in Photographic Center Northwest's annual Chase the Light summer pop-up gallery exhibition and fundraiser, celebrating photography and community.

A pre-event happened June 13-14, when people across the globe made photographs on the same weekend, centered on the theme “Chase the Light.”

Participants then submitted up to five images from the weekend shoot for review by a jury of. industry professionals.

After review, jurors selected one image per participant for inclusion in a pop-up gallery exhibit and print sale held Saturday, June 20th.

I’m honored that my image “Lumière” garnered inclusion in the show, amidst the brilliant work of so many other images makers worldwide.

Happy summer, all – and keep chasing the light!
