Right now I should be sitting on a beach watching sunsets and photographing picturesque scenes.... instead I’m home on lockdown during the pandemic... .
This Easter period has been my usual pilgrimage to the north coast 500 for almost the last ten years! With abnormally consistent weather and midge free conditions, it’s breaking my heart that I’m not there... but it’s absolutely necessary. Staying home and slowing the spread is the best chance to save lives here in the UK. There are some utterly selfish and irresponsible people I’ve seen thinking they are either clever or that the rules don’t apply to them, and it angers me beyond belief...
We will get through it and we will get back to normality (but even that could change) .
I’m taking the time to go through old lightroom library files and bring some images I initially dismissed. Enjoy... TDN

The north coast of Scotland is a true escape for those with a passion for a road trip.. Pack up your car and hit the roads pointing north and don’t stop until you reach beaches that will make your jaw drop.
White sandy beaches, clear ocean water, you won’t believe your eyes and with the remoteness and quiet all to yourself, it’s as if you’ve your own paradise. .

How many people have thought about heading out on the great North Coast 500 route around the Scottish Highlands.... I've, and have enjoyed it so much, and with so much to see on the route, doing it once is simply not enough.

We are in the process of creating a sharable google map that you can interact with on any device to give you handy hints on accessible Wild Camping locations and tucked away cafe's on route.

I first started heading up there, back in 2013, and whilst there, created a little best bits of the journey along the way.
