A photo shoot from last year. Such an amazing garden and I always feel privileged as a photographer to be allowed into people’s private gardens 😊 When you get a brief you never really know what to expect or how to prepare. I alway start by building a rapport with the owner and it always involves a discussion about the weather and best time to photograph, early morning or late evening! Then you get there and the pressure is on because you have to immediately take in the scene and work out the best angles, all the time the light is getting increasingly lighter or darker, depending which time of day you are shooting at. On top of this there is invariably the tidy up operation, hiding hosepipes, plastic pots etc. I enjoy the pressure really but at the time you just have to get in the zone. For this image I needed to learn a new technique of timing feeding the fish while holding the camera millimetres from the waters surface and not dropping it in the pond 😳
