It officially time for me to start taking about my birthday. I’ve been a good sibling and waited for my brothers September birthday to pass but now STEP ASIDE IT’S MY TURN!! Well, it’s actually not even this month 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I still get very excited about birthdays and apparently this excitement fades the older you get so I’m embracing it!!! In all seriousness I’m super excited because we’ve booked another weekend away (You wait all year for one and they all come at once 🤷🏻‍♀️😂) in a little hut in field a short walk (or stumble) away from a cosy village pub and I CANNOT WAITTTT. I think the fact we’re definitely not going abroad has made me appreciate these weekends away even more (plus HELLO LOADS OF ANNUAL LEAVE). Have you got any staycations booked?

We stayed in the village of Didmarton in Gloucestershire this weekend and, as like many Cotswold villages, it’s got some dreamy houses! I think it’s safe to say we found the cutest one?!

The village is quite small and only seemed to have one pub, luckily it was a lovely one! At least you know, no matter where you stay The Kings Arms At Didmarton is in walking distance which is a win 🍻

WE ARE FINALLY WEEKEND WANDERLUSTING ONCE MORE 🙌🏻 I’m soooo excited we’ve just booked our first staycation since December! (If you haven’t already guessed by my username, ya gal likes her weekends away🙋🏻‍♀️) We booked it using our voucher we got for Christmas. It’s all my glamping dreams come true... there’s a hot tub which you bet I’ll be going in rain or shine 😂 I feel like this it’s going to make me want to go on many more glamping trips so let me know if you have any UK recommendations!

Exciting news! 🥔 I harvested the first of my potatoes for an emergency potato salad last weekend! It’s about time they all came up anyway but I’m saving that for a sunny weekend because I think it’s going to take some rooting around in the soil to find all the potatoes! It’s my first year growing potatoes, but I imagine harvesting them from a deep raised bed is going to be like when you loose a small child in a ball pit at soft play and have to have a good rummage around 🤷🏻‍♀️ This variety is ‘Desiree’ and is such a lovely bright purple, was hoping for a bright potato salad but it lost most of the colour when boiled 🙄 These were from one of the small pots I put the spare potatoes in, hoping some of the others are a bit bigger 😂🤞🏻

I need to put together a solid case on why we should get a greenhouse in our garden so if you could please help me convince my boyfriend that would be GREAT. Pros and cons welcome, but if you have a con please sandwich it between 2 pros to help my case. Thank you for your help 😂 (In all seriousness, are they worth it? How often do you use it? Can you grow stuff during winter inside it? Do you have to clean the glass loads? Gimme all the juicy details)

I wish my garden mistakes were this beautiful 😂 This summer I was looking forward to walking round picturesque gardens, taking pretty pictures and admiring all their immaculate plants (along with a healthy dose of snide remarks fuelled by envy to make myself feel better, of course). I was lucky enough to squeeze a trip in to RHS Garden Wisley before lockdown and can’t WAIT to go back! Also on my list are Blenheim Palace, The Newt in Somerset and Sissinghurst Castle - National Trust! Let me know if there’s any other gardens you’d recommend 🌳🌷

Shout out to the daffodils for making every day a little bit prettier 🌼
This was the last of ours this year, I’m gutted they’ve gone but I’ll be sure to plant lots more for next year. I’ve planted some sunflowers seeds which I haven’t done since I was a kid when we did sunflower growing competitions. I’m older and wiser, so step aside people, this year I’m going for the win 🌻
What’s your favourite flower to grow? 🌺🌸🌼

Anyone remember what their hometown actually looks like? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Here’s a throwback from when my boyfriend took me down all the pretty streets in Oxford he thought I’d like 🥰 Every time we go to town we always say we need to explore it more! I REALLY want to go University of Oxford Botanic Garden and Arboretum next time 🌱 What’s your favourite part of your hometown?

It’s a girls night in, quarantini’s all round 🍸🐔

The girls have taken it upon themselves to keep us busy by playing their own game of hide and seek round the village which has resulted in an involuntary egg hunt.. They may dig up the veg patch and eat any colourful flowers in the garden, but at they make us laugh nonetheless 🤷🏻‍♀️

Waking up to these view of the first frost on our van trip back in December was magical ❄️ Waking up to the 900th frost in the dark, de-icing the windscreen with a Tesco Clubcard and spending the whole journey to work thawing out the tips of my fingers is slightly less magical...😂 @ Ladybower Reservoir

November marks the end of my veg patch for this year and I’m already SO excited to get going again. I’m so chuffed with all the veg we’ve grown in our first year, so here’s celebrating the good the bad AND the wonky 😏 👖
