Backstage at Cheshire Fashion Week 2026 ✨
On Saturday I had the privilege of photographing behind the scenes at Cheshire Fashion Week, opening night beneath the vaulted ceiling of Chester Cathedral.
There is a particular magic backstage that guests never see. While the audience were still finding their seats, the real work was already well underway: the hair and makeup teams working with total focus, designers steaming garments and calming nerves, models finding their stillness in the minutes before the runway. This is where the story really begins, long before the first walk.
My background is in editorial and fashion photography, and backstage is where that eye feels most at home. The light is unpredictable, the moments fleeting, and nothing is staged. It is documentary photography at its purest.
A privilege to document the craft of these designers: White Stuff, Unblemished By Cherice, Original Ireland, ILZA, Mihaela Dowman, Pearl-Marie Creations, Liam Brandon Murray, Exclusively by Michael Adam, Angel Cuomo and Andrea Harrison Designs. And to the incredibly talented hair and makeup teams who built every look on the night, thank you. Fashion is a collaborative craft, and none of it happens without you.
With thanks to Cheshire Fashion Week for the accreditation and access.
