May Feature - Ten Places to Visit in Scotland during 2026. 10. Perthshire

Perthshire is known as big tree country due to its large expanse of forests and plentiful tall trees. Castles, gushing rivers and waterfalls, moorlands and mountains also characterise the region with autumn making Perthshire particularly photogenic. My personal favourites are Blair Castle at Blair Atholl and the Hermitage at Dunkeld.

Oban and Inveraray are main towns to visit but my personal favourite is the Hollow Mountain Ben Cruachan at Loch Awe, an excavated mountain used as a hydroelectric power station. fans
