What a fantastic and emotional ceremony this was for Sam and May with some beautiful elements from Japanese culture. A country very close to my heart.

Early February in Scotland and a garden (or very poshed-up garage!) wedding for Sarah and Siddhant. All the best vibes for your adventure in India, a place very close to my heart. I'm a wee bit jealous, I have to say. Peace and happiness.

It's hard to say who was most excited for Emma and Ross at the Corn Exchange for their first post-covid wedding. It was an absolute blast and Emma told me after the day the ceremony was their favourite part. It was mine too, funnily enough...

Well this one was awesome!!! Michelle and Greg chose the magnificent The Cow Shed Crail and it was the perfect place for their vibe of ceremony. Many laughs were had. Beautiful views were exchanged. Beer and whisky was drunk. Uncle Ian the piper surprised Michelle by inviting an entire band to play her down the aisle. Loved this day. Love, love, love the Cow Shed! Congrats Mr and Mrs Robins.

A crackin' shindig at fantastic Boclair House for Douglas and Debbie. Here's yet another awkward picture with me in it for the collection. This was the best of 4 of them as well!

A new venue for me today (yes, there are some of those left!!!) ...the utterly gorgeous Lindores Abbey Distillery. You couldn't meet nicer people either. Laura and Chris had a relaxed outdoor ceremony with laughs, joy and no little emotion. As always in Scotland the sun shone, the skies were blue and factor 50 was the order of the day. What a day!!!

Me doing yet another daft pose after marrying the fantastic Jennifer and Keith. When I asked Jennifer if there was anything Keith could improve on at all in their relationship she told me that he keeps collecting guitars and bottles of craft ale. I couldn't help wondering why on earth that would need improving!!! Playing at the ceremony was the Arta String Quartet who just sounded incredible!

Mark Archibald Humanist Celebrant

I live in Crawford in South Lanarkshire with my partner Donna, our two (now not so wee) kids and two very chilled-out cats.

I first became aware of Humanism through my work as a wedding photographer. After finding out more, I quickly came to realise that I have actually been a humanist all my life. Humanism is really about respect for others as well as ourselves. Humanists believe that everyone is equal and deserves to be treated as such. We only live this one life, so why not live it in as positive a way we can?

Along the path to becoming a Humanist Celebrant I have travelled extensively and worked in a number of countries. I am also a member of a theatre company touring home and abroad and still perform from time to time! For the past 15 years I have been a photographer and I continue to photograph weddings (over 850 to date!) and other events.

As a busy Humanist Celebrant I have had the privilege of playing a central role in the most important days in the lives of my fellow human beings...Marriages, Funerals and Naming Days.
