Often pilots overlook certain aspects of the pre-flight checklist compromising the safety of themselves and their passengers.

Carrying out pre-flight checks is a important part of preparing for a flight and should be completed thoroughly every flight.

The key to a good pre-flight inspection is understanding what you are checking and why you are checking it. Knowing what is normal and abnormal, what is airworthy and what is not helps when completing a pre-flight check.

Coming to the end of a 6 month group design project at Cranfield University to design a low earth orbiting spacecraft with a highly sensitive payload.

My work on the mission analysis, orbit selection, propulsion system and AOCS has been really challenging and extremely interesting and I am very pleased with the final outcome of the design!

It’s been great fun working with some incredible and talented engineering students!
