The name Kinbane means white head and refers to the white limestone on which the castle stands. For me it is one of the best places to visit. Not much of the castle remains, and the path up to it is narrow and stepped. Kinbane Castle is a State Care Historic Monument sited in the townland of Cregganboy, in Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area. The area surrounding Kinbane Castle is a Scheduled Historic Monument, it also offers spectacular views of Rathlin Island and Dunagregor Iron Age fort.

Glenariff, the Queen of the Glens(My favourite Glen), is one of the nine Glens of Antrim in Northern Ireland. Glenariff Forest Park covers over 1,000 hectares with planted woodland, lakes, outdoor recreation spaces and conservation areas. The rocky gorges of the river support a wide range of mosses, liverworts and ferns. Due to the richness and diversity of these plants, part of the Glenariff Glen has been designated as a National Nature Reserve. The timber walkway (boardwalk) that winds through the glen and alongside the river gorge was first built about 100 years ago and has been carefully reconstructed to provide a spectacular walk.

The Obel Tower is a highrise building in Belfast, Northern Ireland, located on Donegall Quay on the River Lagan beside the Lagan Weir. Measuring 85 metres (279 ft) in height,[4][5] the tower is the tallest storeyed building in Ireland, dominating the Belfast skyline. On completion it overtook the previous tallest building in Belfast and Northern Ireland, Windsor House. It is also home to the stunning Dream appartments.

At the foot of the “table mountain” Lurigethan Mountain, the coastal town of Cushendall nestles against the banks of the North Canal. The most striking building of the village is the former prison tower Curfew Tower, which was built in 1817. On the northern edge of the village there is a popular sandy beach from which a path leads along the coast. The “Cushendall Coastal Path” offers wonderful views of the village and the coast and also leads out to Layd Old Church.

Belfast Castle sits at the foot of Cave Hill and is one of the most iconic locations to view the stunning skyline of Belfast City. Built in the 1860s, the estate remains a perfect location for locals and tourists to explore the surrounding natural woodland, parkland and gardens. It’s also home to the Cave Hill Adventurous Playground, archaeological sites, a visitor information centre, eco trails and orienteering routes.

The Giant’s Causeway formed just under 60 million years ago, and at that time Ireland was still attached to North America. Europe was starting to rip away from North America, and as it did so it created huge rifts in the earth’s surface. Those rifts produced cracks, and up through those cracks came lots of molten rock and lava. Much later, erosion then caused rivers to form in the basalt. Then more lava came, which flowed through the river valleys. In this river valley, the Giant’s Causeway we think of today was formed.

Here in Tollymore, one of Northern Ireland's most scenic forest parks at the beginning of autumn as water falls between the stepping stones on the River Shimna under a canopy of bright green gently beginning to fade towards the reds, yellows and browns of autumn both of my beautiful daughters pose as they proudly conquer the stones

Boyeeghter Strand or Boyeeghter Bay, commonly known as Murder Hole Beach, is a small isolated strand located on the Melmore Head peninsula beside Downings in County Donegal. Despite its ominous nickname, Murder Hole Beach is a must-visit for those wishing to dip their toes in the sand and sea and make the most of the incredible Irish coastline. Here is my YouTube video from a trip I took a few years ago
