My husband is a virger at and was working late last night while the choir rehearsed. I accompanied him on a behind-the-scenes tour after enjoying Rossini’s messe solonnelle while he switched off the lights and generally closed down the old lady. I will never get bored of this stunning building and it was a real privilege to see some of her secrets.
